    As Labor and Delivery Nurse, thank you for sharing your story. Great advice. This is my daily life in Level 3 high risk maternity. It’s so hard to explain to mothers what’s going on.. our whole motive is move fast, our mind is literally “GET BABY OUT”… Goal is, mom will be holding her baby..

    I was trying NOT to comment!! My child is now 25. I noticed during the latter part of my pregnancy that my baby didn't move as much. He came 3 weeks early and the CORD was wrapped around his neck. Listen to Alicia and listen to your body.

    I have never been pregnant nor am I a mom. But the comment about having to make a choice resonated with me. When my mom was having me there were complications and they told my dad he might have to make a choice. They knocked my mom out and 52 years later we are both here !

    OMG Alicia! Your story is so similar to mine with my second child! I was having contractions all day...get to the hospital, I was six centimeters...hours go by...by doctor checks me...I went from 6 to 0 centimeters!!! I was so upset because I wanted to push my baby out, mind you, I had a c-section with my first baby, due to complications... about an hour later, my doctors comes in and says, your baby is in distress...her heart rate is dropping drastically , we have to take her now! Chelsi is now 26 years old...had I not went to the hospital, Chelsi would probably not be here. Fast forward, to my son, my doctor...I expressed how bad I wanted a natural birth...my doctor immediately told me NO...due to my past issues, she just didn't feel comfortable with it and didn't want my husband in a position where he had to choose a life, because I had a tubal pregnancy a year before I was pregnant with my son, then the complications with both my daughters. When I tell you I feel you! I know what you went through and how you felt at that moment! I'm so happy you and baby are alive and healthy! I'm so glad you shared this for other moms to be!

    At 22mins I started crying. I appreciate you sharing your story. I recently had an Abdominal myomectomy only because of trusting my intuition and getting a 3rd opinion. 22:21 Alicia your test was a testimony. As a single birth mom of a 23 yo boy, your perspective was not only heartfelt but humanly. I don’t like to cry period. I still haven’t emotionally responded to my only son, moving out while I was on vacation. Pray fully you continue to be observant and H.O.T(honest,open,transparent)

    Praise Him Almighty!! I wish so many “mothers to be” could hear your story. Your intuition and your doctor listening. Sadly I know of a mother who had intuition and her doctor “blew her concerns off”--if she had changed doctors perhaps she would be here today yet her husband is raising their daughter without her.

  • @ilovesilver205
    @ilovesilver205 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Your womanly/motherly intuition kicked in!!! We are such POWERFUL vessels and your son is so blessed to have you as his Mother and William as his Father. I'm sure this experience has also brought you and hubby closer than ever 🙏🏾💜
    Sidebar: There are several negative connotations toward C-sections. Some doctors and hospitals push them on mothers, who dont actually need them. Also some of these establishments, don't take very good care of black women, when performing the procedure. What I'm confused by, is anyone who knows you or watches you. Should know you are a VERY informed and intelligent woman. Not some young, uninformed and naive little girl. Please keep your comments and your experiences to yourself!!! Unless some is seeking that from you.

    Your story made me took me back 9 years ago when I was admitted in my 2nd trimester at week 26 given steroids' to help boost my daughter lungs and to prepare to have her BUT GOD...I stayed in the hospital and every morning my doctor would come into the room and just remind me as the weeks went by how blessed I am. We had even talked about NICU babies and the things we would test when she come early. My daughter came at week 35. My daughter heartrate started dropping and next thing I know same exact thing doctors, nurses, everyone started running into the room... Talk about being scared and nervous!!!! I remember looking at the monitor watching the heart rate drop and rise and drop and rise BUT GOD!!!! I ended up getting pregnant again with my son and my pregnancy with him was totally opposite with not complication, but the whole pregnancy I was a nervous wreck thinking something was going to happen with him. Congrats again!!!

    I appreciate you video. I also had a Emergency C- Section. My contraction was coming so fast and they slow it down. The Potassium was slowing down my heart rate and my son. I was lucky that my doctor regular gynecologists' delivered my baby. Praise God that you and the baby are ok. I was a much older mom, I was 41 yrs a the time. I am well and have a active 8 yr old son. My body recovered well and I had to go back to the doctor for my son check up three days after delivery. I honestly wasn't down , I was up and moving around. I didn't leave the house for 6 weeks but I was able to get up and move around plus I nursed my son. Blessings to you and your son

    Alicia, I am so proud of you sharing your story. It is really important in life for women to hear their bodies and trust their heart and intuition. I am happy for your family and may God continue to bless you throughout the journey we call life. I remember being pregnant years ago and telling my doctor something is wierd going on, not sure what it is but I'm feeling wierd. Well, just as God would have it I had surprise twins in the delivery room. The boy was hiding behind the girl! Today, they are 37 years old and such a blessing to our family. My vagina birth was an emergency as well in a sense because my daughter was stuck, a nurse literally jumped onto my bed n was pushing on my belly while the doctor put is hand inside me to pull her out, few seconds more n my story would be different. So I can totally relate!
    That was definitely God, knowing ur body ur baby and ur intuition. I felt ur emotions. ❤️

    Love your videos. Thank God for your beautiful baby!! I noticed you having to push your hair back over and over. Can you just put a clip in it?

    Thank you so much for sharing your story. I appreciate your vulnerability and allowing yourself to get through it to possibly save a child’s life and keep a family from possible heartbreak. You are awesome. Your tips on prepping for and recovering from c-section are invaluable. Who would think that walking after surgery would help but it does make sense that it would help recover quicker. Thanks again 🥹🥹
