One of the most shocking moments in History was when Abraham Lincoln, the President of the United States of America was shot inside a theatre in Washington. But the plan to kill Lincoln went deeper and involved many different people. One of those was David Herold, a young man who was involved in trying to assassin the Secretary of State, however he fled and tried to escape justice with the very man who shot Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth.
However eventually David Herold was captured, and he handed himself over to authorities and he was then placed on trial. He was sentenced to death for his involvement in the plan to bring down the government, and for this he was executed on a huge gallows inside a prison along with the others.
