  • Today we’re at the helm of Aston’s V12-powered sports sedan. Externally 2015 might be misconstrued as a carryover year for the Rapide S, but the four door has received a host of tweaks this year that pay dividends behind the wheel.
    2015 marks the debut of the new Touchtronic III eight-speed automatic gearbox, a transmission that’s been honed meticulously with technical partner ZF for use in the Rapide S and Vanquish. Here in the Rapide S, the new gearbox gets the Rapide S from zero to sixty miles per hour in 4.2 seconds - a full half second faster than last year’s model with the outgoing transmission - while also yielding an 11 percent improvement in fuel efficiency. Top speed of this four door grand tourer car is a blistering 203 mph.
    That new gearbox is mated to Aston’s venerable 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12, which outputs 552 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque in the Rapide S. For 2015 a new Bosch Engine Management System has also been fitted to the car to refine communication between the powerplant and the new 8-speed gearbox.
    New rear bushings that are 20% stiffer than before, larger front brakes (400mm discs with six-piston calipers) and some subtle styling enhancements - including new ten-spoke forged alloys and new interior trim options - round out the changes for the 2015 model year.
    Pricing for the 2015 Aston Martin Rapide S start at $207,820, and bespoke personalization of the Rapide S is available from the Q by Aston Martin customization program. But before you get lost in the near-infinite amount of ways to option out a Rapide S.

      +GH05T SN1P3R I live in Canada lol. No, I am not rich, but he is, he has a Porsche Cayenne, 2 new Jeep Grand Cherokees and a Mazda MX-5 as well. Used to have a masarati but it broke down. I drive a Honda Civic so I'm not rich lol.

      Just because a neighbor has a pricey car doesn't mean by default both neighbors are wealthy. I live in a pretty middle-class, family-esque neighborhood, with houses typically being a 3 bedroom, 2 bath size house, houses ranging from $400-800k(mind you, this is in Los Angeles, so same size houses in more rural areas like Palmdale or out of state like Oregon are about $150k in comparison). My GF and I can afford comfortably cars around the $50-60k mark each, and we're far from wealthy. However, my neighbor has 3 daily driving cars and sitting in his garage are Lamborghinis. It used to be an Aventador and Gallardo, however, I haven't seen the Gallardo lately, and just last week I saw him drive by in a brand new Huracan. Assuming he traded the Gallardo in for it... But yea, not the type of cars you'd expect in our neighborhood.

      @@soccerjonesy yeah. Where I used to live our house was about $410,000 while his home was easily $2 million, they're all on the water, ours was just built in the 50s so it isnt as nice as the newer ones built. But I just moved to the country into a large 1800s stone farm house. Its absolutely gorgeous. Floor to ceiling windows, original woodwork and floors, but still ain't rich haha, but the dude with the aston martin got rid if it, bought a silver a Corvette with the Z51 pkg and a new Lambo Urus which is drives in the winter haha.

      Lunar Cactus Y'mean Ford copies AM. They're pretty audacious when it comes to copying design elements from Astons, but I suppose they used to own them so it makes sense.

    I don't really like the design of the steering wheel. A 300k car should have a flat-bottomed steering wheel. Even modern Toyatas have flat bottomed steering wheels.

    • @AmgAleem
      @AmgAleem 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally do not like the design of the steering wheel. In my opinion, it looks like an old Ford steering wheel. I think it should at least be an option to equip a flat bottomed steering wheel. I think that it gives the car a more high-end appearance and it inspires a more enthusiastic driving experience.

      I recognize the area he's driving in. It's Malibu Canyon road, and trust me, if you lived in that area, you do NOT want to drive fast there. Well you do, everyone does, but because of that, the road is literally riddled with the Sheriff. Worst part, since there are so many thickets of trees and bushes and tons of curves, they are always well hidden and will always catch you.

  • @BARATTI99

    I can't understand.. Except for the engine sound (but I wouldn't sure about that point😐), top speed and drive feeling, even an Audi S3 has better interior than this car and has the same acceleration time of that Aston Martin...I would just expect perfection by a 300k dollars car

    If Aston Martin decides to redesign their interiors, I don't see why anyone would buy something other than an Aston. The interior is completely outdated.

    • @samualhouren379
      @samualhouren379 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +IMB2U Well for performances reasons, Aston Martin falls behind when it competes with other supercars by a far margin.. Secondly, not everyone loves the Aston Martin exterior.. Aston Martins Used to be my favorite car, but not anymore; it reminds me to much of a Jaguar.. I now like the R8 and the 458 Italia
      And i doubt Aston is going to update their interior, they are owned by Ford. That is why that steering wheel looks like my steering wheel on my F150 (Ford Pickup truck).

    • @NotCommanderShepard
      @NotCommanderShepard 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Unknown Person Aston Martins aren't really made for performance though. And whoever does not like the exterior of an Aston Martin simply lacks taste, in my opinion.
      For your second point, they will surely update their interiors, they've already begun to. Ford can own Aston Martin, but they won't have much to say on interior design. Just like how Tata doesn't interfere with Jaguar and Land Rover's design choices. All Ford is concerned of is profit.

    • @samualhouren379
      @samualhouren379 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      IMB2U Well i wouldn't say that they don't have any taste.. I used t love Aston Martin, but then i realized that it looks far to familiar with a Jaguar XKR.. It doesn't really give you that exciting feeling that a lambo, Ferrari, or a R8 would if you spot one on the road.. Well at least in my opinion.

    • @NotCommanderShepard
      @NotCommanderShepard 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Unknown Person The XKR came years after Aston Martin established this design language though. And most Astons still look exquisite, in my opinion. In fact, that's about the only thing I like about Astons anymore. Also, they aren't meant to have an exciting look. They are supposed to be sleek and modern, and frankly, on the outside they are.

    • @samualhouren379
      @samualhouren379 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      IMB2U Eh well that's your opinion.. But In my opinion; A Aston Martin resembles a Jaguar XKR, and deosn't really stand out from the crowd like a supercar is suppose to. There are many modern, sleek looking cars that are less then half the price of a new Aston Martin..
      Aston Martins fails to deliver in Performances, Interior design, and overall look.. Don't get me wrong an Aston looks great, but it doesn't really grab the attention, excitement, or the reaction that any other supercar would; such as a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi R8, abd Mclarens when they are spotted on the road.. One thing i will give Aston Martin however, is the amazing sounds that the v12 6.0L engine makes... Other then that, i wouldn't spend $250,000-$300,000 on a Aston, but i will spend it on a R8 or 458 italia =p.
