Your lessons are really good stuff. You focus on building a solid mechanic basis for playing the instrument. I don't see how this can be a waste of time like these people commented. Maybe they think that technique will improve only with some fancy Paul Gilberish style exercises... i mean, nothing wrong with those, but after you got a consistent base of the mechanics of alternate picking you are good to go with the infinite variation of exercises there are out there (or create your own) and that seems to be the goal of your videos. Too bad bad people like me ignored the importance of master this very basic stuff and tend to rush in the path to be a virtuoso. That is the real waste of time, and the result we know... poor technique and frustration :)
Thanks for the kind words. I don't really sweat the detractors too much. There's always going to be some of that when you're going against the grain as much as I am with these lessons. I expect most of the negative comments and downvotes are due to people looking for some sort of sliver bullet... "Learn to shred in one day" kind of stuff. It doesn't exist, and they're mad at me for trying to tell them that. There is no destination. Only the journey. It can be enjoyable or frustrating. It sounds like you've figured that out. Good for you. :)

In the last 2 months i have been improving at a much better rate and passing through old barriers... still have a long run to go and your videos are helping me to get there. And these last days i was more in the mood of making some good music than build up a super technique... i think that, along with the ressurrection of my former band, will be a good even to my chops.
Thanks. I've got a newer white one that I actually use on stage more. It's not as heavy (no maple top) and the simplicity of the white translates better from out in the audience, I think. As for the pickups, they are the Carvin M series high output pickups. I record these videos direct through a Digitech GNX-3000. Live I use a POD HD500 which I think sounds better.
I have a white jackson (mij) so i know exactly what u mean on stage. I was looking to buy a carvin soon for its quality and made in the usa craftsmanship. Really like the look of yours. If u dont mind my email is aequitasmgmnt at gmail could u send me a pic of that white one?

thats a beautiful guitar my man. are those the Carvinpickups in it, the carvin "metal" pickups, or another brand
