I figured out an easier way to think about the reversal with and without momentum. To do it with momentum, you press and hold B a millisecond before you hit the opposite direction on the stick. To do it without momentum, you first tap the opposite direction and then a millisecond later press B. It’s weird, you would think it would be the same button order with a different timing, but it’s not.
Huh that must be why I very rarely get Snake just pulling a nade regularly, it's odd but he'll do a turn around Nikita no matter if I was early or late. This momentum vs no momentum mechanic might be a factor in registering this as Nikita both ways

2:31 I talked with my buddy about this, would it be considered a b-reverse if it reverses both ur momentum and perspective, and a b-turnaround if it only reverses your perspective but not momentum? To do a "b-turnaround" with snake you just have to reverse the input of a b-reverse, so first flick the stick and then press b, with the exact same timing as a b-reverse. You can also "down-b turnaround" and "side-b turnaround" using the same principle
I have a side question I hope you can answer. Sometimes when I play snake and do the down throw into up tilt at 160, snake would sometimes up tilt in the opposite direction even though im holding the stick directly up.
the controls are very precise here. you are probably doing it up but back a little bit which will cause him to turn around. I would say that would be why you are doing that. just gotta try to make it straight up or maybe little forward to avoid it being back. hope this helps!
Just flicking the C stick upward works. I'm finding it very hard to turn around and up tilt even when deliberately trying to do it. It may be something wrong with your controller.

His item tech skill is super clean, and it seems like he uses snake’s defensive options somehwhat differently from MVD or Ally. He uses Z-drops for grenade traps a lot, and I think it’s worth taking notes on

I have this problem with my pro controller with snake when I'm trying to do an up tilt but it doesnt come out or there's such a long pause before it does. My controller isn't broken either.
If you're using the C stick for tilts, if you have already flicked the joystick in a direction and haven't brought it back to neutral position it won't input another tilt if you move it into another direction. So for an F tilt you have to flick the joystick to the left/right then allow it to get back to the center THEN flick it again.
I got B Reversal down after a few matches of practice, however I have a huge issue with flick smash moves. I will attempt a tilt and end up charging an fsmash with the stipid ass rocket launcher. As far as I know you cant turn off flick smash moves... (I run with tilt attacks on the right analogue, pro controller.)
You want to make sure Snake is drifting forward before you do the b reverse. Thats how you get the momentum otherwise, if you jump in place, you will get the b reverse but he wont have any momentum

Are you using tilt stick? Disconnect controller and reconnect? Is this offline or online where this happens
I play offline with friends and family. Hadn't thought of disconnecting and pairing again but I'll give it a try
