When i was a kid back in 97' i had a job working at out local junkyard and it was AWSOME! and super mega dangerous, i worked the car crusher plus various other jobs there.. it was way different back then nobody was worried about safty and i seen some horrific stuff.. it was definitely an experience.. great video.. 😊

Anybody know what kind of motor drives this type of system, and what the power requirements typically are (voltage & current)?
Saw a video showcasing one of these machines once. The crushing gears themselves were probably about the size of a microwave... Attached to an engine the size of an industrial dumpster. Massive, MASSIVE amounts of torque generated by huge engines in a big old box turning extra thick crankshafts at a relatively low speed for maximum crush. I'm not sure what the system requirements would be, but my guess is out of reach of the average layperson. Talking less like walk in freezer and more like small bulldozer levels of power.
I used to make the blades for these! cool to see them in action.
