I’ve said it once ! But I’ll say it again!! Your form is very “very” good. Very impressive! If you don’t get Gold every time you compete, it’s probably bc you’re just a tiny bit aggressive at the end. Orrrr it’s bc the judges don’t know what they’re seeing. I’ve probably seen more cutting competitions than most people have seen a STOP sigh. Make sure you record as much cutting as you can ! You never know when you’ll get your first perfect cut.
Thanks for posting this video! I'm a big fan of the Falchion, especially the type 2. I'm thinking that might be my next sword purchase! Could that reverse clipped edge have served some specific function? I'd like to get a training sword with that profile to see what unique techniques might be discovered sparring with it.
When I saw Shad's original model, I'd thought it was an anti-armor spike, designed to punch through chainmail (Yes, I know that that's not the proper name, but I can't remember the proper name at the moment.). Seeing that the primary edge curves all the way to the point, however, leaves me clueless.
Any thoughts on how it thrusts?
Nice sword, great cuts! Interesting edge bevel.

Wow. A very unusual sword. I was surprised to learn they are chisel edged. Bet it felt like a razor going through those targets.
I like the unifacial edge. We see those frequently in lithic tools. Easier to make and maintain.

Very nice video.
How much was the sword
What's the difference between the Type 1d and Type 2 versions?
were there pole arm versions of falchions?
Look up glaives. There were many different types and some looked exactly like a falchion on a stick.
Glaives and english billhooks look vaguely similar
