I used to think Cameroon was a far away Country. Didn't know it was so close to Nigeria.
Cameroon is Nigeria’s neighbor to the east. My family members are from there. Some of my secondary school classmates are from there. Our brothers and sisters are from there.

We have so much in common with Cameroon especially those from Cross River State.
Abakiliki is around 1hour by road from Enugu. To hear Abakiliki is only 45 minutes from Cameroon is surprising.

🇳🇬 Nigeria is really very beautiful and blessed.God must have thought,no you can't have it all,that's why he gave us bad government after government. Nigerian leadership are just clueless,sorry to say.Just imagine for a sec.if Nigeria truly get it together as a country...Today African countries that can't even compete with lagos state economy are comparing themselves with Nigeria.....Cocoa, rubber processing factories along this route would not harm anyone but a blessing to Nigeria and Africa...Oh no, that's just too impossible for Nigerian leaders to encourage or achieve.......The wind must be travelling that direction that is why the trees are leaning that way.The trees are practically protecting those nearby villages from windstorm, dust,erosion/flooding when it rains etc.These are some of the reasons we must protect nature,they are there for a purpose.Crime is higher in most west African cities because they've destroyed all the nature.Nature relaxes and calm people down,because trees gives us oxygen and takes away the fumes we give out,the stuff that's harmful to human carbon monoxide. The absence of trees/nature causes anger,stress and eventually crimes.People might not believe it but it's true..lt's biblical, some of the things the story of Jonah teaches in the bible.Jonah was angry when God took the tree from under his head and was calm and relaxed again when God made the tree 🌳 🌳 🌳 grow back..What a beautiful journey! You don't even need to ask the type of oil,when looking at it,the local one is more reddish, that's my state sir,am from No in yakurr,we have ten communities that made up yakurr such as ugep, ekori,mkpani, Nko,agoi mbami, Agoi ekpo,kikpeti,asiga,nyima

Cross River is filled with very kind people. But, do NOT stop at Odukpani Junction motor park if at all possible. Many people have been cheated there. The town of Odukpani is fine. But as a rule-avoid any “junction”, no one is truly from that place so people are not on their best behavior. Also, avoid any place where you must cross a river on a ferry. Do not spend the night in these places, like Donga or Ibi. Too many rough people. This will make your journey much safer.

Travel from Ogoja to Calabar used to be no more than three hours some 40 years ago when the road was VERY good with NO POTHOLES! I miss life in the 1970s VERY MUCH. Ogoja was a BOOMING town.
Wao. It's far from it now. Eventually it took us almost 7hrs to get to Calabar.
I grew up in Calabar traveling across the Cross River to attend high school in Oron. Back then were the MV Eket and MV Oron ferries. I left Nigeria. 42 years later, I visited Nigeria and traveled from Uyo to Calabar--- the road was terrible.
In 2012, it took some 4 to 5 hours to get to Calabar from Ogoja, it keeps getting worse year after year

Interesting that you mentioned Olumba Olumba Obu. My dad is the pastor in the church and I was raised in it. I have yet to visit biakpan. Must do so when I go back. Keep up the good work showing my state. Really been too long.

LOL What is the speed limit on the roads you were on? It seemed like everyone was going way faster than 80mph. Where were all the Security/Police I did not see one until the very end of your video? If something were to happen out there who would come to help?
Hahahahahahaha 😂 😂 no I wasn't scared. Uncle took his time and wasn't speeding. Most cars overtook us. Come to think of it, I don't think we saw any police on the way.

Great video. Usually trees leaning to 'one side' are in search of sunlight but I didn't notice anything over them blocking direct sunlight except the Grey clouds. Is it Usually overcast in this part of the country?
For the time I was there, it was mostly overcast. Could that be the reason?

My parent lived in Ogoja before I was born. Some of my older siblings were born in Ogoja.
These your and other Nigerian TH-camrs’ travel videos are making some of in diaspora to question the rampant insecurity news: if things are bad as some say (security wise), how come you guys are able to transverse Nigeria so care-freely?

Abeg, what is the difference between agric palm oil and local palm oil - which one is better than the other?
I honestly don't know the difference in the end product. But what I think the difference is is in their growth. One produces quicker than the other.
Local palm oil is better
Here's an answer from a person who has this info from his Nigerian wife.
As Frank said, local palm oil is better. You can actually see the difference because it still has some particles of the original plant inside the oil and is from natural grown palm trees without fertilizer. Agric oil doesn't have these particles and it's more refined.
In your mouth Agric oil is more sticky.
The best Local palm oil is sold aside the road or in villages.
