My grandad was from Newcastle and was a pure geordie. He died two days before my birthday. He Wass my hero. This song was played at his funeral. And this song will forever be my favorite.

Singaporean here. Studied in Newcastle University back in 2012 and graduate om 2015. I still miss the city so much, managed to go back around 2017 and still cant believe how magnificent this city is. The Tyne River, The bridges, the Northumberland Street, the Park and the museums. I really miss this city so much. Jesmond is the best neighbourhood ever near the city, befits my student status back then because near to almost everything. I wish I can go back. I just want to go and dine at Slug and Lettuce again and go for a weekend buffet at ZaZa Bazaar.
Talking about the Geordie, theyre some of the warmest sort of people on the country. EVER. Like, I cant goet enough of their hospitality. Never had hard times trying to converse with one because the Geordie are just so welcoming. 😊

I lived in Gateshead - until 1956 - my father being a Danish sailer, so we moved to Denmark. I was in Newcastle last month, and was proud to hear people telling me I have a Geordie accent. Afraid I cannot write in Geordie. Have not heard this song before now, and cried me eyes out, because it reminded me of lovely days, when I was a bairn.

As a Newcastle fan whose Dad grew up in Gateshead and moved to London in his 20s had me and raised me there, this song is a strange experience.
I'm from Crook but I've been living in the south for a couple of years now and though I've watched my accent fade mostly away I still consider Newcastle my home, and whenever I get my paycheck I go up for a weekend and watch a match at St. James'. I’m a Geordie, spent my life growing up in Fenham. I’ve moved around my whole life since 19 with the Army, I now live in the Caribbean with my family. I’ve met lots of different people and cultures. Us Geordie’s when we travel, everyone loves us and our accents, no ego here. I believe it’s because we are friendly people with deep levels of empathy for others.
