Yes, but incoherently. I'm going to get into this more in my series overview, but it's really a weird mishmash of teenage angst, a romance plot about a bad boy, a clumsy metaphor for a messy divorce, and defund the police.
Yes. And I think that this is intentional. The message isn't that one group is good and another group is bad, but that everyone is bad. But that is supposed to mean that no one should be judged for being bad, since everyone is bad.
@@MissingTheMark It doesn't fit in star wars, it goes against Lucas canon. Not only that acolyte was a bad and poorly written show which is a shame but not unexpected from Disney these days. The Jedi were never bad or grey, they lost their way and focused more on the will of the Senate instead of the forces will. The sith are evil in star wars and the Jedi are good light side in Lucas canon is balance, dark side is imbalance.
@@ninvusoogoar6098 Oh, yes. I do my best to always put the "Star Wars" in quotes when mentioning Disney "Star Wars." It's absolutely absurd. I'm considering starting my series overview episode with a list of basic facts about the world the writers apparently don't know, such as that there isn't air in space, stone doesn't burn, and if something burns down, it's not still there...
The thing is... disney is making all star wars mostly for kids now. Kids dont really pay attention to every detail. Im sure kids thoroughly enjoyed the show, but adults didnt. What we need is for Disney to go ahead and make some star wars content that is made for adults
I concur with your conclusion that Disney should make content for adults. I have a few issues with the idea that Disney Star Wars is for kids, or at least that The Acolyte is: 1. Having children myself, I've watched a lot of Thomas the Tank Engine and Bo on the Go and Power Rangers and they don't have the massive issues with plot holes, characters having no discernable motivations for what they do, characters constantly changing their motivations for no reason, evil moral philosophy, etc. that The Acolyte does. Ditto the Disney princess movies like Frozen, Moana, etc. 2. Kids do not enjoy stuff this slow paced. The episodes are a slog even for adults to get through because there's so much slow walking and waiting to say one's lines. Plus, there are no (intentional) jokes. This would be the first for-children show I've ever heard of with no jokes. 3. If a show whose highlight is a man going for a swim, naked, while a woman watches voyeristically is meant for kids, the people involved in making this show should get lengthy prison sentences.
Strange, I thought I was subscribed.
Missed all these videos.

"From my point of view the Jedi are evil" but unironically: the show

Colttaine had a video on the Hollywood female power fantasy, its not just to be loved and praised, its to be that as the villain.
Grey moralism doesn’t remove clear good and evil, it just removes good.
It’s just various shades of guilty.

cool so Leslye Headland is mentrally derranged.
It's a natural consequence of a bad worldview.
