    Actually, I found the first segment with the examples on the computer EXTREMELY helpful. It really helped me visualize WHERE the project is going, and what we are actually trying to accomplish overall, so thanks for including that. TBH it also got me interested in learning that program.

    Excellent video! It was a lot of fun to watch. Personally, I always love it when crafters go into the description and thought process of their design. I feel like it gives me a better understanding to incorporate some of your ideas into my own. But also makes the video feel more thought out/purposeful.

    He's back! He's back! And he's also a graphic designer!
    The Illustrator section IS a must, with that you can plan your layout with ease... I like it!
    I love this channel even more now!

    I think your build is great. Lots of good ideas pulled together into one project. I also really like your wall props. Gonna have to look and see if you made a video on how to make those!

    Ultimate take away: MAKE A MAGNET STICK! OMG I've spent HOURS writing on magnets with sharpies to determine polarity and even then I sometimes screw them up lol.

    Great video! I have some 1/2 inch foam tiles too. They are useful, but one strong sneeze or someone bumping them the wrong way when moving a mini and there goes your layout! Have been considering building some more robust pieces and you shared some great ideas. Thank you!

    Great video as always! Love the green/blue and purple undercoats on the different tiles. It gives them a ton of depth and makes them feel more fantasy-like in a subtle way!

    The tiles turned out just gorgeous by the way. I am going to search your channel to see if you have a video on how to make the walls of the scene at the end. I want to make something like this but I am a bit intimidated as it will be my first try!

    Good evening @Hall of Craft, have you trying to use eva-foam (the thin ones) in order tom ake the tiles? You can also texture them and maybe its quite more effective than using plates (wich borders are unusable). Thank you for your content and have a good day.

    • @HallofCraftVids
      @HallofCraftVids  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a roll of Eva foam, I usually use it for things that need to be flexible or extra durable. The plates were mostly an experiment, certainly not the most efficient material. But really accessible.

    I've built a wyloch style tileset but these....so sleek, even if my mind would break doing so many steps. But then it does look really worth it. I think i'll try some oil wash on my latest set. Thank yo

    • @HallofCraftVids
      @HallofCraftVids  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would be a liar if I said building as many tiles as I did wasn't tedious, but I just kept saying "I'll appreciate having them when it's over" and now that it's behind me I'm glad I did it. But hell it was a project lol.

    I've been working towards a tile set that ultimately would have turned into something very similar. I'm not much of a magnet person, so I might put dabs of hot glue on the bottom corners to prevent sliding. Thanks for sharing!

    • @HallofCraftVids

      For each set I made 6 6x6s, 10 4x2s, 15 2x2s and 10 1x4s.

    The weird glue issue could be an interaction of mineral spirits with one of your glues or other materials. It's a pretty strong solvent, wouldn't be surprised if it could straight up melt your foam, much less one or more of the glues.

    • @HallofCraftVids
      @HallofCraftVids  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting... I hadn't thought about it like that. I haven't noticed it melting any foam, but now I want to run some tests to find out 😅

    I was thinking if you save sone magnetics using some metal (neils, screws ou paper clips) insted of negative magnetcs.
    (If you say something about it in this video, sorry... English is not my first language and I have a lot of trouble in listening)

    Late to the party here, but what size magnets did you use?!

    • @HallofCraftVids
      @HallofCraftVids  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly not sure, i have a bunch of magnets sizes in ym drawer, and i kind of just reach in there and use what fits. If i had to guess ide say they were 3mm.

    Ciao. Se posso darti un piccolissimo consiglio, puoi adoperare per le estremità una carta più leggera di 80 gr. Potresti adoperare la Pelure che di gr. ne contiene la metà (40 gr.). Probabilmente i magneti conserverebbero più forza. Detto questo piccolissimo consiglio da vecchio tipografo, mi complimento per il tuo canale e per quello che ingegnosamente realizzi e ci metti a disposizione. Congratulazioni e grazie. Ciao👏👋

    why didnt you just superglue the magnets on the ends of the stick? takes 2 seconds, lol...

    • @HallofCraftVids
      @HallofCraftVids  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Super glue on metal is a pretty brittle connection, it may take 2 seconds but it won't last very long under the pressure of repeated use. The milliput will last essentially forever.
      I also didn't come up with the idea for the stick, I was following Trent's lead, and he used milliput, he's also much smarter than I am, so I didn't question it 😅
