  • We got to see a close-up of world champion Loh Kean Yew(!) against Nhat Nguyen (Ireland) at the Dutch Open 2021. He clearly improved during the last two months, but you can already see here that he is a beast.

LKY was born in Malaysia and is playing for Singapore, Nhat Nguyen was born in Vietnam and is now playing Ireland. These two could not reach their current level if they still play for the original nation (I guess).

Mr Cuong Bui, for your information in general saying. For example Chinese national want to change his or her national into French. That is not allowed that is ridiculous. Regarding the badminton player Loh Kean Yew he is a Malaysian not a Singaporean bear that in mind. He is holding a PR status. He played for Singapore it does not mean he become a Singapore Citizen of course not. He should be playing for Malaysia but he did not. I had with the law and procedure one person own race & nationality cannot be change to another race & nationality. Name can be change regardless of any race or nationality.

To be VERY honest, a lots of European players, and also players from Americas, they have their own unnecessary little movements while playing. Their movements aren`t clean enough, and to a great scale that actually damages their game. I am a retired athlete, I used to play in Brazil and China, that`s what I saw by comparing

Quite pointless to compare with yesteryears LD, its juz like comparing LD with YY or with MF, or ZZW with RH, or with LSK...u juz need to outshine d current crop, those in yr own generation, in yr era, n crowned champion, n u wud hv reached d pinnacle of yr badminton career.

@@t.c904 that is a human weakness, a common frailty prevalent with our preoccupation with our past glorified heroes, players, results etc
..maybe we grew up adoring them, held them once as demigods, d greats but time passes on, generations come n go, we still refuse to let go...today in soccer we MUFC fans esp d older folks are still talking about George Best, some even suggesting Best is d best dribbler EVER even we know today we have different speed, style and modes of soccer playing. Yes comparing too much is pointless..

@@1001001a u do hv a point there but often when starry eyed fans or blind idol worshippers of yesteryears made their defenses, it sometimes results in bantering or worse, heated arguments even. So really I see it as generally nothing more than a mere reminiscing exercise and pointless cos one can never truly, meaningfully compare them as they are from different eras, with different climate, rules, circumstances, training regime and systems etc etc ...
