JC did an amazing job and I hope they stay in the 1:500 market for the next few years because it could be a new generation of manufacturers coming into the Scale 500 market as we have no other choice other than Herpa. I have bought this model as soon as my local retailer put it on sale and it just arrived last night. I have to admit the model is fantastic and as a fan of Star Wars I had to get it. The antennas are pretty well executed and the details around the engine and thought the model are great. Comparing them to a herpa model I have a 787-10 from KLM 100th anniversary and the quality are the same as of the model itself, where JCwings are pushing is on printing details and of course the antennas. At last I have to agree about the price, for an special edition is kind of acceptable, I bought it here in Chile at about U$51.50 and that was because I have a discount coupon with my retailer, the normal price was U$59. I hope it's just because is a special edition of a special livery. Excellent review as always, keep it up!
I really appreciate the transparency on your part by labelling this as "paid promotion" (even though it technically doesn't really count as that). I think that the reason that it is so expensive is because JC Wings doesn't usually produce in 1:500, so they don't have the same economy of scale that Herpa might have for example. I think this is very much a "tester" model to see if the 1:500 market is something that is even worth entering into. I'm pretty sure that prices will drop if they chose to commit to 1:500. I hope they do enter the market because this is a fantastic model. My only complaint would be the missing registration on the front landing gear, which as you said is a bit strange given the plethora of other details. I also think that the print quality of the star alliance logo is a bit meh. Otherwise this is amazing and I can't wait for mine to arrive!

I agree with your review… this is what 1:500 models should be like. My only additional observation would be regarding the angle of the wings and horizontal stabilizers. They are both pointing slightly up, although not quite as in the in-flight configuration. Having said that, the model does look great on the stand. Here’s hoping this sets a trend for improved detailing for 1:500 models at a reasonable price.
