I would roll on glue to cover all surfaces of both sides and press under some weights overnight. That way both layers will act more like one piece and you will avoid t crinkling on the inside where you don't have glue and the inner layer can move. See
My problem is I couldn’t find a 1 mm leather that is ready to go. It needs to be requested all the time…
