    Merci pour le partage. C’est le constat des conditions de survie d’un peuple toujours victimes d’une poignée de puissants occupès à s’accaparer des richesses su et l’exploitations des populations pour leur seuls intérêts qui les abandonne ensuite. Toujours d’actualité dans ce monde.

    Beautiful people They look happy content with their trades - i feel sorry for poor/disabled/elderly i hope people were generous

    Didn't the Manchu rulers of China during the Qing dynasty require their Han Chinese subjects to have the whole of their heads shaved except for a ponytail, because the barber and his customer appear to have only their foreheads shaved, and even that may be more due to a naturally receding hair line than deliberate shaving.

      yes, the queue hairstyle was required. it was supposed to be shaven every ten days, like we see here. Those poor old men at the beginning don't have their heads shaved though. my guess is that they either couldn't afford it (though i don't know if it cost anything since it was state required) or that they had bigger problems to worry about. This footage is also from the very last few years of imperial China, when the situation was already pretty bad, so the laws could have been left unenforced.

      Yes ..most likely congee...fills one up without using a lot of rice..He looks so happy.
