      @@blackwidow2_28 Interview with Chortle. For some reason it won't let me post the link to the interview, so I'll have to quote the first two questions here...
      Chortle: Why did you sign up to take part in Taskmaster?
      Rhod: I don’t know, I honestly don’t. I hadn’t really watched the show. I wish I had, if I’m honest. It would definitely have helped. James Acaster is a big fan of the show and he’s seen the house and knew where things were kept. He called on that knowledge in the show. If I’d known what I was letting myself in for I probably wouldn’t have done it. Because I think I’ve come across pretty badly.
      Chortle: Why?
      Rhod: Because every single task, I just completely lost my mind. Every single time I opened the envelope... you just see the crew staring at you and Alex staring at you and you’ve got a few minutes to sort it out. The pressure to be funny, imaginative, original - what can I do that nobody else has done, after seven series? All that pressure lands on you instantly. And it gave me a mild breakdown every time. It’s been horrible.

    I agree that his series was the best. Just off the top of my head I can think of 3 of the most hilarious moments ever on television; 1). The water bottle fountain, 2). James being scolded by Greg in the studio, 3). Greg's reaction at his mom in a bathtub with a fez. The only moment that comes remotely close to these is "Bastard's cryin innit?"

It wouldn't work from a snotty contestant that argues all the time, but when the sweet, nervous, confused, and all around lovely contestant does it, it's perfect. S1: Not true, won by Romesh
      S2: Not true, won by Osman
      S3: True!
      S4: Not true, won by Lycett
      S5: True!
      S6: Not true, won by Ol’ Pointy-Nose Levine
      S7: True (as confirmed by Acaster)!
      S8: Not true, won by Bossy Boots Stirling
      S9: True!
      So, almost half the time yes, but more likely no. And if it does happen in S10, then everyone is due to end up exactly equal, as they all got disqualified in the opening task.

    This podcast was great! I've seen every episode of Taskmaster at least three times each, and I think Acaster is my favorite contestant ever! I think they should have Ed Gamble on as a contestant one day too -- he's quite funny and could probably use a break.

    • @Delinae
      @Delinae 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The issue there is where it starts the motion of going through the machine rather than the motion of approaching the machine, stops, and then start the motion of going through. If Alex had shoved Katherine from up a hill in the direction of the machine, and neither of them applied any more force to change her trajectory or speed, and she went into the machine, you'd be right.

    Im thinking the christmas tree wrapper task a bit like in sports. Long jump for example, its when you life off from the ground. Same with the javelin throwing etc if you for some odd reason dont put yourself through the wrapper.

  • @SugarSnapDragon
    @SugarSnapDragon ปีที่แล้ว

    Hearing James saying he would have won on any other series is amusing, considering to me, he seems to have intentionally chosen silly over effective on multiple tasks. Sam Campbell was what James Acaster could have been if he had chosen effective without totally compromising silly. But that portrait of Greg James made was incredible. I think the reason this show only works with tv personalities, is because they usually know how to handle defeat, and how to try and try when something seems impossible... and they're used to the abuse.
