Some great finds this week especially the Q & St Helena 🇸🇭as to the 10p I have no idea how it’s ended up that way but very curious 🧐 I found a Jemima Puddleduck in my change from the petrol station ⛽️ on Wednesday night 🤗 Great stuff RJ Coins 👍🏻
Spotless condition on the 15 Britannia, and nice rotation. As the milling is added before the coins are struck, I have a theory that is probably way off. The planchet was too large (or too thick), when originally punched from the metal strips (if not rolled to correct thickness), so when the reeding was added it squashed the coin, resulting in the dies not striking the planchet correctly (off centre strike). You can see on your coin that one side has more edge to it than the other. I can't rule out the possibility it could be a lamination error as well. That's my suggestion, but someone will probably have the correct answer for you.
Hopefully get some interesting opinion Whenever I find anything like this I start from the point of it being damage Only when you can rule out manipulation and manufacture can you start to think it may be a genuine error Cheers Ian
@rjcoins970 mine also has the dots well inside the edge of the coin, it sits in an oddities jar I never thought I'd see someone with something similar 👍
Nice coinage Richard 👍
Thanks 👍

I think you may be right
Sizing isn't greatly off but striking is
I hadn't really considered lamination given it is so mashed

Some really nice finds. I like the Q and the great condition Charles Dickens. I'm not sure what to make of the 10p though?
I'm still unsure as well! I've since checked the size and despite looking like a lot of extra metal it is only very marginally bigger 🤔
Hi Richard, ive got a 2p very similar to your 10p, can't wait to see any comments on what it is 😎👍
