There's a lot that goes into the conservation efforts of all North American wildlife. A big part of those conservation efforts goes towards controlling the population of animals. It might not make sense to you in particular to kill an animal in an effort to preserve its species or another's, but it does make sense when looking at the whole picture. Overpopulation of any individual species is no joke, and can have serious effects on the local ecosystems they live in. That's one of the main considerations of the DNR when selling hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses.
@@TH-cam.Is.Run.By.Terrorists With the continued serious decline in wildlife, id say they are doing a pretty lousy job. Fact is I think they are part of the cause.

This looked like a live trap so it could be for relocation to release in another state that wants bobcats. But they are also trapped for fur and basic wildlife management. They are not as fuzzy and friendly as you may think. Here in Kansas our fox population is nothing like it used to be since the bobcat has come back. Bobcats kill foxes to eliminate the competition. Very difficult to catch coyotes in cages here in Washington where it’s the only method allowed. I have a few ideas I’m going to try out this season but it’s a long shot.
@@deepwater9215 Why are coyotes difficult to trap? I just saw a cat (type?) get caught. It looks to me as this is a cage trap & does not harm them & it appears to just big enough for the cat. I'm assuming too big a cage & the animal could hurt itself. I quite enjoyed that, thanks for posting it.

There was only bait at that location for 5 days. Bobcats will remain nearby if the food source is to their liking. Outside of rearing young, my understanding is that they don’t return to the same den location every night.
