Ive read many of the comments here. The thing about music is that it invokes imagery, emotions, fantasy, longings. This song does it all. I've read many comments about longing for another time, a time of real-life experience and struggle. A time when what was yours was yours and could only be taken by force. A time when family ties were as strong as iron and the land was the lifeblood of the hearth. A time when the balance between mother and father in the home was respected, each knowing their duty without complaint. A time when the Gods of our ancestors lived strong in the heart of the folk. A time when we did not know too much as we do now and the world was still full of mystery and magic. I long for that time and age as well.

I grew up in Norway wandering around in all the public forests. This reminds me of hiking around in the woods & mountains, very mysterious and humbling experience. Music is very appropriate.
According to this source from 2003, 88% of forests in Norway are in private ownership. You must've been very picky to only wander around in those owned by the government :p www.regjeringen.no/globalassets/kilde/ld/bro/2003/0001/ddd/pdfv/177177-norw_forests-brosj-eng.pdf
Haren94 In Finland,Sweden, norway there are alot of private owned forest. But we have a law that is basically called "right to public access" you can go into the woods and pick berries and mushrooms and camp if you want even if its "privately owned" But you cant cut down trees because those belong to the owner. I meet hikers/ sometimes hunters were my family own some forest. In Nordic countries we believe that everybody should get the chance to be in the forest and enjoy life. We have no problem with this.

There have been genealogical studies that show that the vast majority of people with ancestry in the British Isles have direct lineage from vikings and ancient Scandinavians. So if you're English, there is high chance you have Nordic blood.

I am from India,Bengal (eastern region) and I feel so connected to this kind of Nordic music. I can listen to this all day. I wish to survive in nature that has bluish and blackish shades everywhere with an axe and a sword. Your work is soooo breath taking that I'm stuck with Northern civilization... I'm a Greek girl who would be proud if it had viking roots :) keep creating magic...
Yup ^ Harold Hadrada, King of England (defeated by William the Conqueror) was a leader in the Varangian Guard. So there could be some nordic genes kicking around the eastern Med somewhere.
Most in the Varangian guard where not actually real vikings. Most where from eastern europe. They where kind of vikings but not really. The Varangian guard was of course made of vikings in the start but after a while this did change
Nice to hear! But I do hope you are just as proud of your roots even if there aren't any vikings in there somewhere, although as pointed out here there just might be! =) The ancient greek civilization have had an enormous impact and proud history! But I'm still happy you like us up in the north anyway =) Or our heritage from ages ago I should say perhaps. Greetings from the north!

And that's exactly it. Nature's call is much more persistent with the days, and music like this is definitely its language. All love to Scandinavia!
My husband and I come from Viking and Celtic lineages. We often meditate to the sounds of music such as this and I listen to my warrior poet compose songs to honor his past and our future.
Each time I hear this Music, I want to pack my bag, take a boat to the mainland, get to Dalarna, and walk into the ancient forest once more. I live in Sweden. Born Swedish. My family is from around Scandinavia. This Music speaks to my old norse blood.
I've never made a DNA test and as far as I know all my family is Spanish or Mexican. But I can't ignore the connection I feel with the north, I never felt connected or proud of my roots I just feel isolated and this type of music lets me feel like if I was there in the ancient times and imagine adventures I'll probably never have, love your work
Perhaps because Spanish people specially from north Spain are Celtic descendants, and they came originally just as Norse, from the the central Asian plains. We have very antique roots in common.
I have a tiny percentage of Scandinavian in me genetically yet Nordic music speaks to my soul deep within me. I like dancing to it on the beaches or sitting quietly with headphones. My warrior times are over now...at 73 I finally get to relax.... and enjoy. It must be empowering to sit by a fire in winter with the Lights above. I am Canadian. Husband and sit by the ocean, Salish Sea, in all weather. We bring out our chairs and hot coffee and enjoy the elements...all weather sun gales rain snow...only hail stops us❤.

I am from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 A small country in Europe. I think my country is amazing and I totally love it. I just miss that we dont have that much nature, which makes sense, cause our country is not that big. One time I went on a trip with friends to go wild camping in Belgium. I know it is not scandinavia, but it was he first time ever that I felt I was really in nature, cause we were an 8 hour walk from the road. I have travelled to so many cities, but still this was the best experience in my whole life. I love the nature, and this music makes me reconnect to it. I feel very connected to nature when I listen to Nordic music on a cloudy day. I live in sunny California in the cities so it’s easy to forget that we all came from nature. Sometimes on cloudy days, I just put this music on, stand outside and take a few minutes to breathe in order to ground myself and remind myself of our origins as humans.
Wow! I’m just like You! I’m from Brazil and I just love dark cloudy and rainy days! I can feel exactly what ure talking about! Listening to this songs in cloudy rainy days is magical!
@@IGTKYIYKSM as I get farther into Norse Paganism, I like to think 'battle' is relative. Like dying from a battle with depression (suicide) cancer, etc.
I can see them wandering, marching through the forest; the crisp spiky leaves poking through their worn shoes, stabbing at their feet. It is freezing cold and yet they continue in their bulky old fur jackets torn from the very animals they ate. But it wasn't just animals that they hunted, but they also hunted humans, seeking their treasures and riches. Jewel's and suffering however brought fear into the land and although the Viking's were mighty their consciences were drooping. They chanted and chanted trying block out the guilt; the regret but every victim left a stamp, a scar. They slowly turned to madness one by one and so they continued, hollow and heartless walking through the icy, snowy forest like clockwork. I can see them.
@@theodoric7335 I agree and an image of projecting your modern values on them. Their religion was built on war. To fight , to die was honor. that was life.
Music is the best thing humanity ever invented. It speaks without words, and is understandable to any heart. I'm not the one of the northren folk, yet I find these vibes enthralling, I wasn't born to the forests and chilling sea, yet I hear their call in these notes. The music, better that any other thing, makes you understand that at our cores, we are all the same. Same species in the one big world. So different, yet so similar.
My parent is from Finland village, the place which is full of rivers and fog, long winter nights and lots of northern berries. Like this music so much! Thank you for this ❤️
Really love this! My relatives had always told me we had Native American blood in the family. So, a year ago I paid for a DNA analysis. The results surprised me. Thirty-three percent French./ German was the largest portion. The rest was a mixture of DNA from Western Russia, Scandinavia, Norway, Scottish, Irish, British and traces of DNA all the way to Morocco. Researching my father's family name they had intermarried with Vikings. No Native American blood at all. Now I am trying to learn about the Vikings.

Mohamed Lalioui hello! I'm afraid I'm not really an expert on vikings or a good book about them, but the book I was reading was called The Vikings in History by F. Donald Logan. It was only OK, and it talked more about the study of vikings in history, but the author is an expert on medieval Europe, so it touches on that as well. If you choose not to read it, I hope you find a good book to read regardless! Thanks for your comment!
If you really want a good book about the Norse, pick up a good translation of the Icelandic sagas. They're not what most people think of when they think of Vikings (in fact they're surprisingly gritty and realistic and have very little in them that has to do with mysticism or magic) but they're awesome. My favorite is Njall's Saga, which is the tale of a peaceable Christian man who (despite being gifted with a certain amount of prescience and a firm faith in his beliefs) is unable to stop his entire being destroyed by a lingering blood feud that is largely the fault of his niece Halgred Longlegs and her greed and overweening arrogance. It ends tragically for all concerned, but hey...by one man or woman's will many may woe endure!
Mohamed Lalioui I have a book series about vikings, though it may not be very historically accurate as it's fiction. I find it's still a cool series. Its called the Brotherband Chronicles by John Flanagan.
I’m in Florida now, and I got home sick. So i found this video.( im from Norway if you couldent tell by the name) This song just reminds me of being in the forest, and in the mountains.
Ive been reading all the comments and seeing like: “I’m Norwegian, I’m Swedish..and feel like walking around the forests listening to it” or “these are my roots” etc.. But what about me? haha Im Brazilian and always felt connected to the nordics and the Nordic culture! This kind of music, the Nordic countries... Apparently I have never had any connections to these people in my life! Iceland, Norway, Finland.. these places always called my attention! The nature, the people, the weather! And actually I’ve never felt Brazilian to be honest! Always felt different from the people here! This song brings me peace, takes me to somewhere! It’s so crazy! ♥️♥️ all I can say is: I love this kind of stuff! I love this culture! Even studied a little bit about Asatru! The Nordic religion.

I always have had a strong feeling deep down ever since I was little always missing the feeling of being free both in spirit and mind running across open land living for a purpose breathing in the freedom from each new breath being one with something bigger than all of us at first I thought it was just a childish thing but so many people feel it deep down I now know it is our ancient spirits calling us home humans are meant to live like everything else meant to be free but we have strayed from the path of who we’re are truly meant to be that’s why so many people long for nature long to be free once more because we know that voice will always want us to come and seek home but since we have strayed it’s painful both for every creatures soul and the earth I will return home one day I will someday I hope all of us can.
We were all from a better place then where we are now. I am american and no american is truly "from" here. We all immigrated from one place or another. When we hear this music and our blood begins to awaken.. our ancestors awaken inside us.. our past lives begin to reveal themselves i think it all tells us where our blood originated. We begin to connect.. emotions stir and our truths speak to us. This is why we feel so strongly when we hear things like this. It's telling us we are much more than what we think we are. We are all warriors in one form or another. We have all had to fight our battles in one form or another. Sometimes my ancestors speak so loudly and of so many truths i actually cry..there is no doubt we were all brothers/sisters before and are coming together once more. The more of us that awaken perhaps... perhaps.. we will make changes in our lives and in this world and slowly despite what we have been led to believe is the right path.. we will all join hands on a much more familiar and needed path. "society" tells us NO only out of fear.. out of fear that they will have to see the truths for themselves.. not made up man truths. The Old Gods/Goddesses are waking up and calling to their people. Perhaps to save the destruction that we have a society caused and to teach us how to help nature thrive and heal as well as ourselves. I'll stop ranting now. I'm sure i feel nothing that you yourselves don't feel as well. Skol my brothers and sisters.

I grew up in Norway wandering around in all the public forests. This reminds me of hiking around in the woods & mountains, very mysterious and humbling experience. Music is very appropriate.
Christopher Selvik I have always wanted to go to Norway.

According to this source from 2003, 88% of forests in Norway are in private ownership. You must've been very picky to only wander around in those owned by the government :p
www.regjeringen.no/globalassets/kilde/ld/bro/2003/0001/ddd/pdfv/177177-norw_forests-brosj-eng.pdf

Thanks for your comment!
cellochicita i thank you for your kindeness too
If you really want a good book about the Norse, pick up a good translation of the Icelandic sagas.

Exactly this ! I was never able to put it into words this way.
