12:15 its called Appam (also known as “palappam”) are tasty, lacy and fluffy pancakes or hoppers from the Kerala cuisine that are made from ground, fermented rice and coconut batter. Thin and crispy around the edges with soft fluffy center appam taste delicious when paired with vegetable stew for a hearty vegetarian breakfast. They also just so happen to be gluten-free and vegan. Traditionally, appam are fermented with a local alcoholic drink known as toddy - which is a drink made from palm flower or coconut flower. Toddy, which is made from palm flower or coconut flower, is also known as “kallu” in Tamil and Malayalam or “tadi” in Hindi. Since toddy is not readily available everywhere, I make these appam with yeast. Both dry active yeast and instant yeast works as a good fermenting agent and is easy to find the world over. This, however, does not mean that you cannot make appams without yeast.
Finally a travel vlogger who's showing the positive side of India. Kerala is a great destination to enjoy nature away from the daily hustle and bustle of city life. I'm from the Eastern part of India, and never been to Kerala, even though I always wanted to, thanks to you Phoebe, now I know places to stop by when I go there. Really appreciate you making this vlog for others to see the good side of India. I hope you you enjoyed your time here, do come back again whenever you get the opportunity, India has a lot more to offer, thanks again.
Apart from sight seeing tourism, many of my friends and acquaintances have been visiting Kerala for medical tourism, especially dentistry that cost less than 10 to 15 times what they may have to spend in their native countries such as Australia, NZ, the US, Canada etc. The infrastructure and hygiene is world-class too with most ultra modern equipment and unparalleled expertise of skilled doctors.
Isn't it sad that they can literally go to another country and get treated and still would cost much less than their home place especially if you are an American
You're among the less than 10% of foreigners who actually did proper research before coming to India. People just go to super crowded cities and then complain that it to crowded. India is unlimited. You have to decide what you want to experience

Hi India is really nice I have bean to India before I went to South and North part of India and they are so different but I really like India and I'm planning to go back to India soon
Hiya! Never been to India, but met a lot of Indian people and they are so lovely. The nature you were driving past was so green, love it. Buffet lunch looks so good, Indian cuisine is very good. I love tikka masala and butter chicken, just made without the onion and garlic so my stomach won’t get upset. By the way, you inspired me with your Disney adventure in Tokyo so I went to Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park last weekend and it was truly amazing (apart from the Thalys ride back from Marne-La-Vallee to Rotterdam). Thank you for inspiring me and keep up the good work. Have an amazing week 🤙
In kerala, boiled tapioca/ jackfruit with fsh curry, Appam - mutton stew/egg curry/green peas curry/ chick pea curry, Porotta- beef fry or semigravy are the best cobinations. Chiken tikka masala, naan etc are north indian food

It is! A room for 50$ ! . I Visited India now 5 times always for minimum 3 months and I never payed more than 8$ for a hotel. That means I always lived with the everyday people, travelled with them in the same train or bus . So I saw the real treasure of India: The Indian people. I travelled a lot and I never met people that are so warm , Friendly, helpful and hospital as the Indians are. . They made me feel more at home in India than in my home country Germany. You dont meet these people in 50$ - hotels. BTW I just prepare for my next visit starting in january until June interrupted by 30 days in Sri lanka. I'm so happy to see my Indian friends again.

Welcome again to Kerala... You will not find any other beautiful place in this world than Kerala to enjoy the life style of the common people of India and the beautiful natural beauty... Thank you for spreading the goodness of our country to the outside world.
I went there in 2017 (before the 2018 floods)... Good to see Kerela has recovered. It is a Very green place, I liked it. U should have visited Munnar and Kanyakumari in Kerela also... I hope u didn't have trouble in communicating because not everyone speaks english fluently... Awesome vlog, keep it up...
First of all I would like to thank you for sharing this vlog of kerela with us ❤ I want to go down there pretty badly 😅 Your position energy made this vlog super cool ❤
What a great video Phoebe. Shot beautifully and good use of music and editing. I have to be honest, I've traveled through a lot of Asia, but have always been hesitant to visit India. Your video made it much more enticing, mainly the location you're at. I'll have to strongly consider it now. Glad you got to experience this with others as well.
Thank you so much Don :) I really appreciate that! I hear you, as a woman I was a little nervous too. Never once did I feel nervous or uncomfortable in Kerala. Everyone was so lovely!
I watched this video when you posted this in the TH-cam and now I am back to watch the same video here ! Come to kerala and there’s still more places you would enjoy 🧡… Love from kerala ❤❤
KERALA is Entirely different from other parts of India. As a keralite who lives abroad I can tell that white folks only know India as butter chicken and naan or some shitty street food but it’s not us. Kerala is so diverse and green. Make sure to visit every state of Kerala every district has its own unique beauty.
I accept that Kerala is a beautiful part of India but please don't talk nonsense about others, butter chicken was originally of India you can call it over rated but saying sh*t is a bit negative. India is a diverse country and different people have different opinions, each state of India holds a special culture and heritage in which Kerala is a proficient one. So bro as an Indian my India is beautiful and Kerala is the part of that.
Your enthusiasm and joy in every moment of your trip are truly inspiring! Your high energy level made the video so enjoyable to watch. Keep spreading the positivity and happy travels!"😍

Hi India is really nice

Thank you so much!
Thank you dear.. you made my day.. Miss my home town Alleppey.. ❤️😘
I knowwwww! Indian food is next level 🥰 hahaha so happy you went to Disneyland!! Hope you had a great day there 🥰♥️
But the tikka masala and butter chicken are not south Indian. Its not Kerala's food. Visit us ❤️.
In kerala, boiled tapioca/ jackfruit with fsh curry, Appam - mutton stew/egg curry/green peas curry/ chick pea curry, Porotta- beef fry or semigravy are the best cobinations. Chiken tikka masala, naan etc are north indian food
So good to see you here in my country! Enjoy and have a great time here! :)
Thank you so much :) I really enjoyed India!
12:18 its called Appam in Kerala, Its made of fermented rice, coconut milk and some sugar 😊
Welcome to India Phoebe...!! Hope you have great fun here 👍🏼

Thank you
This should be called recommendation, not a must visit 🙂
Also careful, cause not everyone is welcoming in these states, literate and foreign tourists be careful of being mugged and against r@pe. Do research yourself and do not listen to Indians. Watch foreign tourists vloggers for reviews

The only place in India that doesn't a get a bad rap from tourist's is Kerala, lots of love from Tamil Nadu, kerala's neighbouring state❤
@@santhoshv3028compared to our beloved northern part I think States like Kerala and tamilnadu are far better.
@@santhoshv3028 it happens every where! But in some places it's often.
♥️
❤❤❤❤❤
@@dimiberba2374not here we don't have that obsessive behavior towards women and foreigners 🙄
Im happy that you are enjoying in Kerala, also please treat us well when we come to visit your country.
My village, I am watching this from kuwait. Feeling awesome 😎
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
Lots of love from kerala...☺️😘
Thanks so much for watching!

Beauty of Kerala ❤
Welcome 2 our Country. Stay safe and explore well. Especially in North India pls be safe while exploring don't trust blindly
As a Keralite, I feel it's not good to demean the cuisine of other places just to praise our's.
Thanks for visiting Kerala. Explore more and enjoy your journey.
Your enthusiasm and joy in every moment of your trip are truly inspiring! Your high energy level made the video so enjoyable to watch. Keep spreading the positivity and happy travels!"😍
Thank you so much!! ☺️
Im from Kerala and I thank you for your videos and its perspective. Do come again
