@@zubairarif9160 if your hardening proces is sucses, the colour of steel is grey, it is martensite colour. You May be wash the steel after qwenching by gasoline to remove oil from surface of steel. After that , You can tempering the steel to get hardness as you need

How much time do you keep the material in oil and which grade oil do you use for quenching
Maybe one hour in the oil.
Oli quwenching, usually qwenching finish if the temperatur of material is 50-70°C
