As a hobbyist, I really love the Nikon 3500 with its capabilities to shoot sharper images which is good for photography. I’ve been using the camera for four months and I do appreciate its affordable price and user-friendly controls, which is good for me as a beginner.
This is my current camera and as a beginner to photography, it's one of the best camera to learn to. Now I've become more serious about wedding and events and going to upgrade to z5, might also use this D3500 as my backup camera for a while until I can upgrade it to another mirrorless body. Sticking to Nikon of course because of already invested on Nikon Lenses too.
Not too many minuses compared to d series. I do professional footage with d3500, I have no idea why author is downgrading this one, it depends what kind of video you shoot. For b-rolls it’s a perfect one with right lens. Also have d5600 and don’t use it, screen on d3500 is not an issue, get used to it, mic... for brolls I’d prefer studio quality voice over, any mic connected to camera has issues. So I wouldn’t think idea is right in this video, all depends on what is your video style
Recording on a dedicated voice recorder is better than any of the more expensive cameras can do. And the tablet/laptop/tv screen is better than the built in screen. Invest in lens not camera bodies.
Great video! When I was first deciding what camera to get in 2016 I decided to get a D5500. It's been a great camera so far even for video. But those new mirrorless cameras are so tempting to get.
I love the d5500 as a casual shooter but I really enjoy using the old d70s even though it's just about 6MP, the images from it look very good even in low light and way better than my phone... unfortunately can't do video with it. For video, d5500 is great. Thanks Peter.
Hello! My name is Luisa and I'm currently an Audiovisual Language student at a very good university in Mexico. I have been looking at camaras for the past months in order to decide which could be my first camera (because I've only had my phone and I have absolutely no idea how to use or handle a real camera). At my career I'm learning photography and, most importantly for me, I'm learning how to make short films and I have done a couple of them and short videos with my cellphone, but I really want to get my hands on a camera. The Nikon D3500 has been my favorite choice as a beginner, specially because of the price and how ''easy'' a lot of people keep saying it is to use. I recently won a short film contest and the price was some money and, along with previous savings, now I may have all the money I need to buy it, but with this video I'm feeling nervous now, because of the lack of audio and the problem with the screen. Is this really the best camera for me as a beginner if I want to use it to learn how to handle a camera and, most importantly, to make short films for my studies? I would really appreciate some advise on this matter.
Hi, I have a Nikon D3500. Is there any way I can use a wireless mic system and use it for the video? Can i just overlap the sound on the video, or is there an easier way?
I’m trying to decide between a Canon Eos 2000D and the Nikon D3500 And I’m really wanna know witch one is better for casuals videos and photos but I want the one that takes Betters photos can I have ur opinion before 10 of October
@@BVCCo7 Dude the 2000d can't even shoot at 60fps in 1080p. Also the iso range is the half of d3500 and the battery capacity is 1/3 of the d3500.. How did you reccomend the 2000d over the d3500 🤦🏻♂️
I wanna cry so hard after this vid. I got the D3500 when I was younger as a birthday gift and now that I grew up I just realised how shit this camera actually is I wanna do some music video shoots and real estate photography but this camera sucks ass
everyone knows Nikon Cameras are good for photo much better that Canon but even you get the D5000 D7000 line you will not get a good video cause FOCUS system is not good so if you are looking a camera for video the G7 should the your best choice
Just purchased a d3500, every damn videi I shot was out of focus. My 8 year old broken Sony is better, honesty. What a piece of junk, I'm gonna get a refund.

What u think can we shoot good cinematic pre wedding vedio shoot with nikon d 3500?
Wish I had watched this before getting a D3500
For mic I think u can use external sound recorder then sync it.
Got a D3500 as the cheapest DSLR on a black friday deal.
It's very solid but no microphone input is rough

Sure is, it's the future as Nikon discontinue it's d5000 lineup for its mirrorless z line
Wow most useful video created sir
I wish you had included video footage taken from the d3500
It’s actually really good but it does not have really good image stabilization

Thanks for watching Josh - that old school flow.

That's your fault, you don't buy an ENTRY-level DSLR for video.
