Lupe will set you free... you caught about 30% of this track and I'm impressed... Salute 💯💯🙏🏽🙏🏽

30% is a failure in my book, but he gets applause for the attempt.

There is a lot of rhyme scheme flexing all over this song, the bit about toucans, toma-"hawks", pigeons, road runners, a bird scheme. There's a cereal scheme. All these great intricacies and riddles are what keep his fans coming back to repeat listen to the music, you hear something new every time, this song is his shining example of that.

I love the pool and dart bar, because in the game of pool, a skilled player will set up shots using other shots, but in darts, you're aiming for precision. I also think the rain man bar was another call back to the gambit bar, as rain man was a savant at the poker table. I also think the McAuley claws line has a reference to Santa clause, because home alone takes place around Christmas, which could tie into the volleyball line, like he's gifting balls.

OJ da Juiceman is a rapper from down south. So when he says that line he's saying he's a rapper meets murderer.
Later he's basically naming all the ninjas in video games.

I do remember OJ da Juiceman and his yelp. lol. I did not expect this song to be as intricate! Proud he is from Chicago.

@@BlackishUniversity yeah, very layered. Later Lupe material is clearly influenced by Aesop Rock and MF DOOM. Early Lupe is like a fusion of Jay and naS, IMO.

One last comment from me on mural I swear lol. In a video describing how he writes and records (not every song mind you), he doesn't write the lyrics down, he sends it into the mic and it saves in GarageBand, he said he only wrote the first rapping minute of Mural down to get it going. The rest was just flowing into the mic, not to say it's a giant freestyle but I still feel it's incredible.

Really appreciate what your doing but wouldn't this video be so much better if you had already listened to the verses a couple times before you recorded it. Like you clearly are an intelligent dude as on your first listen your finding the deep layers in the song so with a couple of listens you could find even more nuggets.
