cool match up... IN my experience the gearing in those conditions makes a huge difference esp higher gearing with longer track, you would prob never run out of gear on those conditions you would never reach max speed the stock gearing would be slower in snow you would have to be on ice or asphalt to reach top speeds in that gearing. still a cool video thanks
Hey Jesse. Another great video. It will be interesting to see how your Boost and the 9R will run with all the new setups and mods. I am wondering what you are getting for drive belt life. Curious as what to look for in my XC850. Thanks for the info.
Thank you! my boost would eat up the 9R now with what i have in there. The clutch kit i have now is a HUGE difference over stock. aas far as belt life they never really blow and explode ( like a skidoo) but you will have loss of performance at some point. i only get 700 or less out of a standard 850 belt. Boost belt im not sure because they are totally different
Have a 2022 XCR 850 136. Chain case plug was stripped so dealership replaced the entire chain case under warranty. Got it back and rode about 50 miles until chain case exploded itself, NO OIL , it all leaked out. Brought it back to dealership and they once again replaced the entire chain case and gears and chain. Got it back and put about 20 miles on it, all the oil leaked out again but I cought it before any damage occured. Question , do you know why the oil keeps leaking out, dealership is stumped ?
There have been unconfirmed reports. A Polaris mechanic told a group of us that if this motor is dropped into a trail sled it will be spring order only and imited production. A 2024 Polaris XCR 9R is possible. He said he has replaced 3 jackshafts and 2 cranks on 5 brand new 9R sleds under 1000km. He explained racers and riders who crave extreme power and acceleration will want it. But to keep in mind it will be in the shop more than a Patriot 650. Snow check is coming in late March. Let's see what is offered.
Great video. In all honesty with the stuff I’m seeing from the 9r reliability wise and the difference between these two sleds I would find it hard to justify the bump up. Have you guys tried playing with gearing that 9r?
there are plenty of 9R's out there with no issue. remember people love to complain and will post about it. the 9R is a very different animal then the 850. we have not yet because Bruce has ridden it in smaller trails so he wanted to keep it
Ask Bruce unless you're running out of sheath gearing doesn't really do anything, you can Over gear but that's what a CVT does if set up right, it gives infinite gear ratios limited only by horsepower, Rich Daly has videos that really get into clutching gearing ECT.... Thanks for the video 👍👍
absolutely agree. i know it was not the greatest match up but this was what we had at the time so i laid out the facts and people can take away what they want!
About what I expected. My 22 xcr is ripper so I'll be keeping it for awhile. Possibly 8-9 grand to trade, not worth it to me. Thanks for the video. 😃 Still waiting to see if a spacer does anything to the rear springs. 👍
Looks like the 9r is doing exactly what it was designed to do , quicker response, stronger mid , and 7% more up top
exactly!
I look forward to Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm for a new vid haha. Great job as always.
appreciate that as always!
Awesome video again JJ322. Always look forward to it. Incredible how hard that 9r pulls. 👍👍
thank you! appreciate it!
Nice🤘🤘

lot of variables. i agree
Hey Bud, have they said when the first day of snow check is this year?
You have google, right? Took you longer to type that than to type “Polaris snow check 2024”
@@ChaseLandMgmt No date came up !
@@FalvyPollard an easy rule thumb is late Feb to end of March.
Usually 24th to 24th ish
yea i am not sure honestly. think the 24th
Snow check starts March 6th this year
Wish we had more snow up here in NE
you and me both. this is brutal

i have no clue. im not sure how they cannot find where its leaking. without seeing it i have no idea. mush be the seal somewhere
Another great video,
Thx guys 👍🏻
appreciate that!!
What are people getting for top speed on the assault boost with the 1.35 cobra track
depends on a lot of variables. temp, snow conditions, weight of rider, studs etc etc. but should be somewhere around that 114 range on the speedo
Not what I expected! I have a Polaris 850 146. What can I do to make it a competitive sled at 660’?
call Velocity Sled Performance and get it all set up!
Any rumors or 9r in trail model's coming in 24?
just rumors. nothing set in stone yet

I got the same ball cap your wearing, came in a fancy box
few people got it. fits nice
Does this 9r have the long rod kit?
no this is the 9R crate motor

Doo queens are spreading false information about the 9's. That's why nobody likes them. The 9's have been running great.

you eventually run out of gear
Jesse," what's your opinion on the Boost vs 9R with the same track? Make much of a difference on closing the Gap or No?
no was the same outcome also! again its hard because there is no factory clutch set up for the 9R
I agree with the OD theory ! Torque of the 9R getting full shift and into OD zone with ease.
absolutely agree. i know it was not the greatest match up but this was what we had at the time so i laid out the facts and people can take away what they want!
I think the issue is could you get the 850 to that performance with cheaper mods than the crazy amount they want for a 9r.
no matter what you do to an 850 it wont be quite as responsive as the full blown 9R

hey just here showing people some races. we are gettung to them!
Is that a lynx I see hiding in the background of the shop?
yea a buddies i was going to fix but needs a whole tunnel
Oh, wow! What happened to it? I was going to get one this year.
hit a rock under the brake rotor and smashed that whole assembly
Why was the guage not working on 9r
was specified in one of the build videos but this was a one off ECU and was not programmed. working on fixing it
Don't think I could stomach owning another Polaris again. Good video though.
sorry about you feeling that way. we love them have have great luck with them. Thanks for watching
@@JESSEJAMES322 another stop ride recall would say otherwise.
Quality
Thank you
I think the 9r will become the standard and they will faze out the 850
time will tell
9R was getting into O.D simple most stock geared clucthed 850s wont
cant disagree with you. i laid the facts out of what the matchup was and ill let the viewers take away what they'd like to take away
