I split 30+ inch pieces of oak with a splitting axe. It worked when the 8 pound maul wouldn't. The maul would just bounce off. Just have to work from the edges with the axe.
Expensive or cheap axe will have same result on chopping as long they both sharp ... The reason why expemsive axe looks more powerful is because of the fancy looking handle thats all...

I have the Husqvarna, and find it excellent! If it's handle was 4 inches longer, it would be perfect!

Looks like the Husqvarna splitter has a hammer type backend for driving those wedges in the big stuff.
You’re going to destroy the axe head. Put the blocks you’re splitting on top of another bigger block

I have the fiskars felling axe, it works great for both felling and splitting, good multi purpose axe
I will make one note. I saw a Fiskars with a broken handle but I didn't see a Husqvarna.
How come some axe company doesn't do a collab splitting axe with Taras?
