Exactly. What is the STAY AT HOME mom doing that she doesn’t have the time to care for her child?!?! They need to grow up. If they didn’t want nor have the time to spend with their child, why have one?!?! Grandparents are supposed to be able to enjoy some time with their grandchildren, not raise them
How is this even a thing??? The babies mother isn't working she is a "stay at home mother" so be a mother. How the heck can you ask/demand your mother to watch Your child. This is so crazy! How dare they! Even if the woman worked they still have no right to demand anyone watch their child. Especially the mother who gave up her whole life to care for him. So crazy! How greedy and it's Not his money it's Hers!!
Why on earth did they have children? Plus she's a stay at home mom so why can she not parent her own child? Oh yes because she entitled, selfish and self centred
These self-entitled, selfish, spoiled brats should've never had children. OP made the right decision in transfering the entire trustfund to her grandson instead. Hopefully, her grandson will be better than his father when he grows up.
These are the 2 worst parents I’ve heard about. No grandparent should EVER have to raise their grandchild just because the parents want to live a carefree, almost childfree life. Grandparents that step up in situations where there’s abuse, abandonment, etc, but for this grandparent to just raise their grandchild just because the STAY AT HOME MOM, wants to enjoy her own free time is BS. I have children and although I love when my mom takes them for a night or even a weekend so much husband and I can have a date night/date weekend, it’s far and few in between because I love my children, love spending time with them and my husband and I love spending time as a family as much as we possibly can. These 2 sound like they should’ve NEVER become parents if they couldn’t or didn’t want to put them time into raising them. OP stand your ground because all they’re doing is taking advantage of you and your time, when it’s their responsibility to raise and spent time with their own children
Most of this stems from the fairy tale of "me time" among today's parents. They have kids thinking they can ditch them at the drop if a hat to run off and have fun. They can't for at least the next 18 years with NO days off. Get a clue and suck it up.
My husband and I have been married almost 22 years and I still get so happy when my mother takes our children for a few hours so my husband and I can have a date night. We knew when we started planning for children what it entailed and looked forward to starting our family and we couldn’t be happier with all our children. Our date nights may be only 2-3 a year but we make up for it with date nights at home after the kids go to bed
It is not just a year or two. This is just the first grandchild. How many more will there be over the next decade plus. People like the son are they type that will not take care of the parent once they are old and need assistance.
She doesn’t work so she should be taking care of her own kid. I wouldn’t even entertain them.
good point

Absolutely! What kind of person acts like this?

Makes no sense at all. I wonder the same
I feel like John’s wife is why he has a certain attitude towards op about babysitting and the trust fund
Am I the only one who doesn’t know what op stands for
@ original poster/person
@ thx
Makes sense
He's kind hard to understand, I agree
OPs daughter in law would literally do anything else than take care of her own child.
absolutely

I hope it either. But we know how toxic traits can go through many generations...

That's selfish, he and his wife wants her to put her life on the back burner to play nanny, while the wife does nothing.

LMAO, be a mother or pay for a nanny, and she gets a job just to avoid being a mother.
