Thank you for sharing these excellent videos! Slow death by cardboard - just awesome. I am currently living in a hell of book boxes, but am slowly moving to plastic bins.
It's great to see little a little workhorse getting the same amount of care as bigger ticket amps. I try to do to the same in my shop. Good stuff ol' chap!
The Sidekick 10 is a great little amp. It has that chimey Fender tone in a small package. I have one on my guitar repair bench that I use every single day in my repair business. I paid $10 for it at a yard sale and it rocks.
My goodness, thank you so much for this video!!! I recently bought an old Sidekick Reverb 20 and it would not go dirty! I was wondering if that's how they were supposed to be! Not that I was looking for a crazy nice OD through it, but I still wanted to hear what they were designed to be. My next project is to recap this little amp. Thanks!
Only came across your channel the other day mate..like the work you do. I'm after a small valve (tube) combo, preferably with a master vol & effects loop...is there any you'd recommend?
@@PsionicAudio sorry, yeah l shdve made it a bit (lot!) clearer. I'm looking for an amp between 5-20watts that could keep up with a drummer & still be used in the lounge room without Police or the Spanish Inquisition arriving. I'm not into hi gain, but crunch & edge of break up..l got a Supro BK12 a yr or so ago, saw your video... & Ha! wasn't happy being told ld thrown me money away. I realise lm asking a lot here..but there's pitfalls galore & lve not yet won lotto! Thanks for the reply mate.

Soothing voice..jewlery quality solder joints... real knowledge...what more could you ask for..great channel!....
I had a sidekick 20 bass. It didnt have distortion or reverb but it did have a good clean sound to it.
The original speakers in these sidekick 10s are wonderful for an 8"

I think I mentioned this before. I have the fender sidekick reverb 25. It's a small amp but great sound even has a send and return on it...
That has a nice sound.

Did you ever recap the Sidekick 20? I have one so I’m curious. I need to replace one the Master pot and they are very difficult to find.
Thats really interesting. I've got one from the same era and it's a bit different in there. I've got two op amps and a pair of diodes.
Looks like a bunch of Mouser bags?

Too broad a question, sorry. Death metal or country? Wattage needed? Budget?

Looks like you got some components from Mouser.
I get most of my parts there.
@@PsionicAudio Me too for most of my electronics hobbies. I'm in Texas and so is Mouser so I usually get stuff fast from them
Sounds like a Vox
