For some questions: - Performance impact? Its more gpu heavy than default lighting but its not that extreme. Lighting itself pretty cheap to render and most performance cost is coming from SSR and SSAO. Which will have quality settings to improve performance. - Is it free or paid? I'm planning to keep it free if donations are enough after release, if its not enough its going to be 1$/month subscription (you don't need to donate/subscribe before release). - Sunlight? This is using PBR lighting but game doesn't have PBR textures so it doesn't look good as perfect PBR lighting. The problem with sunlight is calculations make it worse when used without PBR textures. So sunlight looks worse with PBR lighting because of lack of PBR textures for objects in the game. For now I'm planning focus on overcast and rain. To add sunlight I need to somehow convert default textures to proper PBR textures. I can try to do that later but its hard to do because it depends on surface type. -Night? To add night I need to replace lighting system for each type of light, I will do it later but currently its daytime only. - Using with other mods/TruckersMP? This is a .dll plugin like TAA, you can use with any mod you want. - VR and multi monitor? Currently it doesn't work because I don't want to spend time on that but after everything is ready I will implement for VR and multi monitor. - When it will be released? I'm not sure yet, I have 2 things left to do. Realistic rain and weather, then I will prepare everything to release.
In the present i use PNG graphics mod for ETS2 and ATS. At the moment, it's the best option for realistic textures, especially with PBR Effect. (we have to keep in mind that Winter mod from PNG will come, and it looks awesome). But even with all of that, your mod surpass PNG mod at a level that we cannot imagine ever for ETS2 and ATS. I don't know how you made this game to looks so 2025 (when we look at other AAA games), with just a simple trick > light. Immagine to have your mod, with PBR textures and own skyboxes. Ultra EPIC. I saw that even the reflection on wet roads are TOTALLY different than any graphics mod. Looks like the game has ray-tracing because the reflections are so realistic. Even more, from what i've read, you offer this MOD FREE wich is so amazing for a mega change like this. You will blow the community with your mod. Can't wait to see your progress. I follow your page like fire.
@@SnowyMoon_io exactly. I can't imagine how epic would have look the game with textures changed (like PNG for example, who use realistic roads texture) and with your lighting mod. Maybe in the future, you will expand the project to a more complex and complete mod. Also i'm thinking, how the game will look with your mod and the implementation of directx 12 and a new update of the graphics engine from SCS.

There are a lot of things that make this great but what stands out to me (other than the general lighting changes) is the vegetation. It looks a lot more detailed and realistic which is something I'd really like. Have you fully changed the vegetation or just adjusted the graphics and lighting? If you fully changed it, will each country have different vegetation? Edit: Someone needs to give this guy an Xbox controller.

Itz amazing how light can change that much, the vegetation is looking better even without replacing for the new ones, amazing work! I have a little question, it's possivel to get darker inside tunnels or its so much complicated and heavy? Cause the default game tunnels looks like they dont even exists, like sun light can pass through the walls and roof (srry my bad english)
There is only single negative side of this system with exterior, I'm using screen space reflections so it can reflect only what is on screen, so you cannot see all the reflections on your own truck from every angle :/ Like windows on bus at 0:18
something bothered me about ai truck shadows, not as bold as cars ai, but u made it good congratulations, especially the motion blur, keep it up, looking forward to it 👍👍👍
AI cars have fake shadows but for some reason SCS didn't add fake shadows for trucks, its weird because I remember trucks had fake shadows in 1.49 or maybe I remember wrong :/ And I don't want to get data from client instead of rendering pipeline to somehow calculate fake shadows for trucks because it will require a lot of data from game client which makes it less compatible with next game updates, I try to avoid using game client data, I prefer to use data from rendering pipeline :/ Thank you
Volumetric clouds are good for MSFS but for a trucking/driving game its just waste of performance because its not going to look good enough like skybox and you wont even notice movement of clouds while driving after 2-3 days :D

Have you ever planned to replace the bad textures with new ones? Considering the scale of your work - motion blur and amazing graphics, new textures would also be nice. Although I understand that it is necessary to interfere in the game itself, but still, it would be interesting. For example, in the DLC Going East! it will be very cool to ride. Because it's in a bad state right now.
You just keep making the game better, I was wondering if this can be used with PNG or JBX to have their skyboxes paired with your lighting, that would be great if possible, if not honestly I don't care your mods has been and will always be top priority for me 😌😂
unfortnly indide the tunnels its still looks like you are outside. Something to do with the sky box or general lighting? I think that is one of the biggest problems in the game graphics right now, the light is not dependable of the local that you are and is not responsive to what you do.
Its because I don't use sunlight. This is totally overcast weather without sunlight affecting the world. And game doesn't provide data for tunnels etc so its a little bit problem :/ I can try to make something like screen space global illumination or global ao but that would be a lot more demanding than current features
Its more demanding on gpu but its not that insanely high, I didn't even optimize it yet. SSAO and SSR are mostly affecting performance and there will be quality settings for them

How are you going to adapt to ATS? Knowing that there are different colors there than in other countries. I don't know how to explain it, but the colors there are different from Europe.
This is working fine on ATS because the lighting method provides good result for all of the countries and states in both ETS2/ATS. You can see that from last ATS video th-cam.com/video/oPY7Ne3YV0U/w-d-xo.html I just change skybox as I want and it affects lighting. I don't need to adjust anything. Yes, it should work fine with any mod you can use, this is just a .dll file replacing rendering pipeline so it should be fine

I'm currently using a few HDRI skies from polyhaven.com/hdris/outdoor/pure%20skies I didn't make any skybox myself yet, I'm planning to do it later

What are the expected system requirements after optimization?
Not sure yet but I'm planning to do some tests on test pc with RTX 4050 laptop gpu, currently I get 4k@120fps with around 50% gpu load on RTX 4090
