You guys did the right thing. Too nice to part out. Sell it and move on to some other bike that is worth more in parts than the whole. Keep the great content coming!
I put on a fairing on my Fatboy but I matched it with HD Hard Bags and not the cheap Chinese hard bags that are about 1/4 the size. Then I put on a full tourpack. So I setup my 2001 FLSTF for long hauling. I didn't like the sagy beat to crap heritage bags on that bike with the fairing. Stripping it down was a good idea and you can sell that stuff separately on Ebay. Good find and good deal.
Yep, good call on selling! I wish I had $4200 to part with. I’m trying to get my wife a bike so she can ride with me. This would have been a gem for a starter bike 😎 Now onto Christine!!
Dale, there is no way a woman can handle the weight of a heritage softail. Even though I see faked videos of this, in person hands on Ive never seen a woman mount and ride a full size softail. In real, I doubt she could lift one off of its side stand
@@docholiday1034 Youre a LIAR. Women do not ride around on ultras. Maybe a sportster. Your lame insults cannot change reality. My 02 softail custom is a bike many men cannot balance off of her side stand and no woman could ever lift her. I think I know you, and your name is actually Rex. If its you then try your babble on me next time I am at SJ dealership
It's got exactly the same paint scheme on the gas tank and pinstriping everything as my 2008 Softail Heritage. Not to insult, but you're sure it's a 2005 and carbureted not fuel injected?
That bike is way too nice to part out. Look at all the extras it has someone at one point loved that bike. . Heritage Softails are one of the best bikes Harley has to offer in the Softail lineup.
Something about those aftermarket batwing fairings. They hardly ever look right. They're always too high or pushed forward they usually just don't fit properly. I have an Ultra Classic now and I understand why people like the Batwing fairings but a lot of bikes that just doesn't fit right.
When you're parts bike is WAAAAAAAAY nicer than your "project" bike. You sell the burnt hunk of metal as lawn art and make the parts bike the new project bike.
Yeah way to nice for a parts bike. I’m still hoping you reuse the motor that came from the build bike. I’d bet it’s 100% fine but probably would be a bitch to clean up.
Its because it has a salvage brand mark on the title now. They are bad investor bies once this happens because you can never purchase theft insurance comprehensive again, so if these get stolen theyre GONE along with oney youve invested. So you keep them plain jane and have to watch them. On a car a salvage brand ark can be lifted, but on motorcycles they cannot
.We have full coverage on all rebuilt title bikes. In Georgia, as in most states, you go through the rebuild process and are issued a “rebuilt” title. At which point you can register and have full coverage insurance on it.
MotoMark If it was accidentally damaged by an insured driver, the insurance company of the liable party may have requested title for the damaged vehicle where upon it was declared for salvage only no matter how slight the damage . I know of someone that was victimized by an insurance company this way in order to get paid for damages. She had to sue for damages to keep the title for her Dodge pickup. It sucks that they can pull this crap but I've seen it happen.
Good call on selling it. That is way to nice a bike for a parts bike.

Awesome build, love the black out look
Just passing thru. Just got a new sub. Looking forward to seeing future projects from you guys. Nice job on ur rebuilds.
Where you guys located I'm looking for a road king with ape hangers and a 88 ci with carb no EFI.
That's a reasonable price, 👍Maranatha, Greetings from Tampa Florida 😎
Thank you!
Where can you find the checklist for the bike to pass the retitle inspection at??
Go to your states website. It should be there.
I just realized you guys are over near downtown Acworth....
Hi I’m interested in the bike where are you located

It is super nice for a parts bike
Yup. Way too nice
Sweet! You should keep it without the fairing. I like it just the way it is. Someone didn't know how to start a carbureted bike?
Took it off and it’s already sold!
I need pipes for a 2003 HD Heritage Softail Classic. Do you have?
We don’t. Not right now
Budget Rebuilds: Bummer...., Thanks
I just did the same bike and sold the fairing for $450
Sounds pretty nice
Thank you!
Thankfully the delivery guy didn't throw this one off the truck in the middle of the night!
Was waiting for him to pull out a lighter hahaha.
Thats a good price.
What did you pay ar the auction
$2700 plus fees and transport etc.
way better, a beauty..
How much did you sell it for?
How much were you asking for the fairing
We sold it!
I think it looked better with the bags on it.
Muy buen canal. Saludos desde México
How much u want for that bowl? Asking for a friend 😁
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did you get rid of that fairing yet?
We have not.
Yes. Yes, the parts bike is too nice.
Im interested in your bike Where are you located??
It is already sold. It went quick!
Kinda curious how many miles are on it?
It's got exactly the same paint scheme on the gas tank and pinstriping everything as my 2008 Softail Heritage. Not to insult, but you're sure it's a 2005 and carbureted not fuel injected?
Title says it’s a 2005. And it is def carbureted.
Probably is. May have used that paint design more than a year and I think carboration (or efi) was an option until around 2007. Blessings!

Good call on reselling. Sometimes Less is more . Glad you removed all the ginny shit off of that Softail. Good job.

It is worth the 4250.00. It is also not worth any less than the 4250.00. Your price is GOOD Even with the brand salvage mark
Thank you!
Are you selling the engine?
We aren’t.
Ok thx
Lol pipe Holly wires under seat 😂 leave batwing

Lol
It would have been my luck a cop would have driven by the moment I pulled that pipe out
Lol, right?!
Clean it up and flip it. Don't rebuild a VW with Ferrari parts!
Lol correct!
Yeah that's not a partsthat thing's got an 88 cubic inch the only thing you need to check is the cam chain tensioner otherwise those motors tight
Does a salvage tittle really depreciate the value of a bike??
Yup basically down to pennies to the dollar
Pennies on the dollar lol!! It’s about 15-20%
You also got to. Check with your state how they handle salvage titles to change it to your name

$4250 I didn't listen to the whole video. Duh!
Way too nice! Flip it for a little extra cash to use on the rebuild bike.
Our thoughts exactly
No reason to part that out. That's a nice bike!
We thought the same!
Keep the bags man they're worth $1,000 to buy

Lol yup!
You should have just taken the fairing off. The rest belongs. But your bike
We thought it looked a lot cleaner without. And it already sold it!
So, the big question is...did he or didnt he ? (wink wink)
I would not part this bike out. Get it cleaned up and you might have to put some money in it to run right. Other than that sell it and make a profit.

It would be hell to clean up but it would be interesting
Just sell the bugger AS IS, before you break something.
It was sold the next day 👍🏼
