    Das ist ein wunderbarer Hörgenuss, so schön gesungen und wohlklingende Stimmen, meisterhaft, Bach hätte seine helle Freude daran.

    Uno dei mottetti più belli di Bach, tanto che anche Mozart si commosse nell'ascoltarlo. Siamo di fronte ad una composizione eccelsa, espressione della bellezza indicibile, intraducibile con la lingua. Resta solo la contemplazione tutta interiore e penetrante fino ad unirci con il divino, la fonte prima e scaturigine di tutta la grande musica.

    Oh dear gods! So used to G- and F-clefts that reading C-cleft takes a bit of practicing. ;-)

      +Gary Seaman "Clefs." A cleft is a division of something, or a medical condition. haha

    • @misteron07
      @misteron07 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Gary Seaman transpose it to a G cleft or just start with a starting pitch and follow the notes, there are programs that can transpose for you if you want to go that route. when I took freshman music theory I had to learn all them C clefts and transpose them. not easy at first but after 6 weeks I didn't have a problem transposing them. Don't ask me now that's been over 30 years ago LOL

    Hi guys, I'm doing a paper on this for music class and was wondering if you could help out. this is all really new to me, so would greatly appreciate to hear some input to see if i'm on right track.
    For this piece, i'm asked to analyze following elements -
    Tempo, Dynamics, Rhythm (metered vs unmetered), Timbre and Melody.
    Thanks so much.

    What's the point of using the obscure movable clefs for human vocal ranges? Ridiculous (and a bit pretentious)

    • @Eorzat
      @Eorzat 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's not pretentious at all especially for the time period. The purpose was to avoid using ledger lines as much as possible. While it's fine for individual scores, the conductor's score (this score) should be as compact as possible which is even harder in this case due to the lyrics also taking up space. Also, you have to remember that printing and paper weren't exactly luxuries, or as commonplace, in the 17th and 18th centuries, so limitations in either of those aspects would serve as an economic constraint to take into consideration.
      Are the clefs obscure now? Yes. There's probably editions that simply use the treble and bass clefs. However, I imagine that the edition in this video is an ur-text edition in which case the original clefs would be present.
