I am American and I also prefer her Faroese singing, even though I don't understand a word of it. For me, it's because it's easier to regard her voice as an instrument telling the story of the song through sound rather than words. My understanding of and connection with her Faroese music is found through intuition and pure, free flowing emotion instead of language, and I find that makes for a deeply beautiful relationship, and a meaning that can't be captured in words. Of course, I enjoy her English-only songs too, but the experience is completely different. When she has an English and a Faroese version of a song, I always listen only to the Faroese 😊
