This is lacking the context of compromises both sides were pursuing. This guy was asked for a specific example and failed to do that. Instead he said "business mandates" and "social policy". Here's the context: Waltz has been governor of MN since he was elected in 2018. What Mark is referring to here is Waltz's performance during the COVID pandemic. Waltz declared an emergency, giving him unilateral control over restrictions on businesses, mask mandates, etc. Republicans wanted to vote to end that state of emergency for the following stated reason by senator Jeff Howe: "we voted to end the Governor Walz's peacetime emergency powers because it is time to restore the balance between the executive and legislative branches and give Minnesotans their voices back in government" It wasn't about protecting people. The priority wasn't saving lives. It was about control and having the freedom to do "what you want" even if it led to thousands of preventable deaths. Last I checked, we don't protect freedoms that result in other people's deaths in my country. Jeff goes on: "Coupled with the decreasing amount of new cases and single-digit deaths, we decided today to end those powers". This was grossly ignorant of MN Republicans (most Republicans at the time, as I recall) as mandates and restrictions began to deliver the expected result: less new COVID cases. To be clear: Republicans held this interpretation: 1. They observed that COVID was rampaging through Minnesota LESS immediately following emergency, preventative action to reduce COVID spread 2. The emergency was over and those preventative actions were no longer necessary. Absolute nimrods. These guys would open an umbrella as it starts raining and then close it 5 seconds later because they didn't feel any rain drops. While MN Republicans were trying to loosen restrictions, Democrats said: "States across America that refused to take COVID-19 seriously are seeing a massive resurgence in cases and Minnesota would almost certainly be among them if Republicans got their way." You see the difference? Republicans were worried about control and autonomy. Democrats were worried about following sound science and saving lives. Waltz refused to compromise if it led to DEATH. I support Waltz in that regard. This softball interview was a disgrace.

Governor Walz unequivocally denied the police assistance, subsequently BLM and their far left allies occupied then burned the station. Your party compromises never.
So Walt’s said we need to mind our own bussiness and republicans said NO! Keep your Republican noses out of our family!! Goverment dosent get to decide on family choices inside our houses!!

@@georgemocol7360 yep that is what they are suppose to do!! Not preach or tell us who to worship. Or to force a person to birth a child for the labor force. Or better yet have regular Americans pay for the wealthy elites education. School choice is what they call it. But we see what it really is for ;) wealthy separation and the poor get religious doctrination to stay where they are at. Republican motto…
Walz locked people in their houses and forced medical decisions on families. That was too easy to rebuttal.

Yeah. Getting more 4 yrs of inflation, bad economic, open border more crimes 😆
So will you be going to the meat grinder of ww3 or will you send your daughter? Thats and high prices are all you will get if Harris is at the helm.
This is lacking the context of compromises both sides were pursuing. This guy was asked for a specific example and failed to do that. Instead he said "business mandates" and "social policy".
Here's the context:
Waltz has been governor of MN since he was elected in 2018. What Mark is referring to here is Waltz's performance during the COVID pandemic. Waltz declared an emergency, giving him unilateral control over restrictions on businesses, mask mandates, etc. Republicans wanted to vote to end that state of emergency for the following stated reason by senator Jeff Howe:
"we voted to end the Governor Walz's peacetime emergency powers because it is time to restore the balance between the executive and legislative branches and give Minnesotans their voices back in government"
It wasn't about protecting people.
To be clear: Republicans held this interpretation:
1. They observed that COVID was rampaging through Minnesota LESS immediately following emergency, preventative action to reduce COVID spread
2. The emergency was over and those preventative actions were no longer necessary.
Absolute nimrods. These guys would open an umbrella as it starts raining and then close it 5 seconds later because they didn't feel any rain drops.
While MN Republicans were trying to loosen restrictions, Democrats said:
"States across America that refused to take COVID-19 seriously are seeing a massive resurgence in cases and Minnesota would almost certainly be among them if Republicans got their way."
You see the difference? Republicans were worried about control and autonomy. Democrats were worried about following sound science and saving lives.
Waltz refused to compromise if it led to DEATH.
I support Waltz in that regard.
This softball interview was a disgrace.

And yeah, it drew out the spread of infection so that the amount of people who were critically ill at any given moment was reduced. That's the fucking point. Extending the pandemic saved lives.
@ahr806 Your interpretation of the FACTS is wrong. Covid 19 was mishandled from the beginning. They downplayed the emergency and refused to take action. It was a Republican nightmare, for sure. I'm embarrassed for our party.

As a registered Republican I am shocked by this. Walz has been really good about being measured in policy and has seemed reasonable. He hasn't been heavy handed on things that are important to me. A good example I was talking with a friend from Missouri and the laws around firearms are more restrictive where he lives than they are here. There are just key differences that actually are more effective than the superficial laws in his state. Also as a businessman I don't know what this guy is talking about with this idea that Minnesota is unfriendly to business. I like it here. I had left Minnesota. After growing up here I left in the early 2000s. I came back because it's really great here. I don't get what this guy is saying. My ex-wife had a thriving business and I am doing well and I just don't get what this guy is saying. Maybe if you aren't successful in Minnesota it's you. You're the failure and you likely would have failed elsewhere too. Don't bad mouth Minnesota sir. If you don't like my state maybe you should resign and leave. Love it or leave it jerk.

Governor Walz unequivocally denied the police assistance, subsequently BLM and their far left allies occupied then burned the station. This is all confirmable through outlets that democrats deem trustworthy.
The point in this historical lesson is combine that with his links to Islamist extremist preachers located in his state - people who radicalize idealistic youth who feel disconnected from Western values, society and culture within our own borders - what's to say he won't give up the White House or the EEOB when the "Palestinian sympathizers" perform another friendly visit to the US Capitol as they have done half a dozen times over the past 10 months with many arrests.
