The mutant origin was added later on. Initially Wolverine and other mutants were Bio. They made the switch and converted some of everyone's bio gear to mutant gear.
There were no rumors that I know of that eternals were going to be nerfed. Maybe some players’ imaginations worried about that. In their defense; I think there was a cc who speculated that, which drove some ppl to be afraid of it. But again afaik, it was all speculation, unlike quake and bw, there was no rumor of an actual nerf. Also, bw and quake were in the game a long time (even prior to global launch) before FoxNext stated they were thinking of nerfing speed up and slow. They changed their mind after their player feedback. The eternals were specifically designed to basically have the stats and abilities of almost a full team. While sometimes characters may perform better than anticipated, in this case, you could have looked at the stats and known it was intentional that they were intended to be op. Edit - I looked up what you referring to. There was a datamine for an ingame mail that said eternals update as one of the messages in the mail. The update had to do with their farmability, not a nerf.
Moon Knight having negative block chance is a little nod to the comics. He prefers to focus in punching someone rather than blocking. Taskmaster hates fighting with him because moon knight is more likely to take a hit if that means he doesn't miss a punch. Also he thinks he deserves to be hit because he feels guilt.
