  • This is my updated version of the Days Inn Hotel Room 150 in Corpus Christi, the hotel room that Yolanda Saldivar shot Selena Quintanilla those 19 years ago. I thought my video last year was in low quality and not very informative, so I decided to do an updated version. Hope you enjoy.

I remember working a second job as a limo driver in 1991 and getting a run to Hobby airport in Houston I was to pick-up a passenger named "Selena" I didn't know who she was - I didn't listen to Spanish music and I didn't know what she looked like either. So I held my sign up as the passengers exited the terminal. I immediately noticed a beautiful long haired beauty walking towards me and we made eye contact and with a big wave and a smile she said and pointed to my sign and said "that's me." Her sister was with her and I drove them to the North line Mall off interstate 45/cross timbers in Houston. She was going to sing one song and do an interview for Univision. The whole time in the car she was laughing and asking me questions about what type of music I liked and what was my favorite band. I had no clue she was famous in Mexico - remember this was 1990 or 1991 . I remember calling my mother, because she was in tune to the music in Mexico and she knew exactly who she was.. Selena had brought a big box of her CD's the cover was of her wearing a black and white jacket I remember - she told me do you want one and I stupidly told her there were more people than she had CD's and to better give it to one of the kids at the show. After the show we three got into my Lincoln town car and Selena wanted to go to Jack in the Box to eat tacos..I drove her back to the airport and she told me she was planning to sing English songs in the future and that perhaps I would like her music since I at the time was not familiar with her music. It seemed she was more interested in my taste in music she was like searching for answers, because here I was clueless to who she was and that was very different to her. She was used to being around people who were star struck and I wasn't and that was fun to her. I picked her a few more times when she came to Houston. I had beautiful memories of the times I spent with her taking around town. Unfortunately, I discovered her music after her passing and am a big fan of her music now. I wish I would have appreciated her music when she was alive - this still bothers me today...RIP Selena...what you said came true - I am your fan!

No I see it differently we hit it off, because I wasn't a fan and liked her for who the individual she was and not the star that I didn't know she was becoming. There was a sincere appreciation for the person...I enjoyed very much the times I spent with her even though they were brief each time...Again this was 1990 her style of music was not played on the radio here in Houston - she was making her name in Mexico and I listened to American music...If I had been star struck she wouldn't have been so approachable to me...

Soleman92 I wonder, but I honestly doubt she would've survived... Selena was shot with a hollow point bullet, my uncle was murdered the same way... They call those bullets "cop killers" because they do so much damage to your insides and they almost always kill (depending on where shot)

When I was in Corpus Christi in 2011, I was on the highway on my way from the airport to the bayfront . Going over the elevated part of the highway that overlooks Navigation Blvd., I just happened to look down and to my right, and saw the Days Inn where it all happened. Even just passing it , it was a chilling and saddening experience. It was the only place associated with Selena that I didn't want to go to while I was there. Just knowing what took place there is heartbreaking enough without actually seeing it.

Some people have said that they've heard faint singing, smelled the scent of roses, and experienced an overwhelming sense of sadness in the area near this room. I haven't been there myself, but it's hard to believe that they're ALL "just imagining it". I know Selena herself is in Heaven, but there are things that can't be explained. I've witnessed a few such things, and even photographed an "orb" in Gettgsburg, so I tend to believe others when they say they've seen things that some people might find hard to believe. And, they're very often seen/heard at the site of a tragic occurance such as this one, which caused so much sadness.

Selena panicked because who wants to be shot? It looks fucking terrifying. So what do you do when you panic? You flee. Selena ran. And when you run, blood pumps through your body. Selena was shot in the chest where the heart was so the blood just drained out. If she walked or fast walked, I'm sure she would have had a chance.

My GOD - To think of what happened here - how significant, although sad , this place is in musical history. I didn't go here when I was in Corpus Christi, but I DID go to Q Productions, the family business where the studio where she recorded much of her music is located. I was given a tour of the studio by her brother-in-law, (Suzette's husband), both of whom work there, and I felt an energy in that room like you wouldn't believe. There's a thing that paranormal investigators refer to as " residual energy" - the life-energy left behind by a person who lived or was often at a certain location. I believe that's what it was. I've never felt anything like it, before or since.

To be honest, they should have just shut that building down, at least that particular room off and do something, other than just clean it up and have it back open for business. Now it will always be a tourist attraction. Also, this whole situation should have NEVER HAPPENED. They learned about this women's past. The should have just fired her when they met with her originally, then let the police deal with the rest if they so chose about her theft. Instead, they keep going back to meet with this woman, and in strange places LIKE A HOTEL ROOM IN THEIR HOMETOWN, to get "documents"? What documents could have been that damn important? I know Selena was a trusting soul but still, think girl! Just dumb dumb dumb. These "meetings" they continued to try to have with this batsh*t crazy women were simply stupid and should NOT have been taking place at all. At minimum if you REALLY felt you had to keep meeting with women for whatever reason, you go as a group. It should have been the police the only people meeting her though. I don't want to sound mean, but Selena was just not thinking, clearly walking right into her own death trap. "Hey, this lady who is stealing from me keeps calling me, saying some crazy stuff, and wants to meet, in odd places like this crappy hotel". "But wait, I SHOULD really try to retrieve that visa bill that she wrongly used on us, gotta have that! Uuugh, just stupid, and shouldn't have happened. Hindsight is 20/20, but what were they, and she thinking to keep meeting with this woman. Cost her her life.

I'm pretty sure the family & Selena already heard about Yolanda's weird shrine to Selena in her house by the time the shooting happened. And Yolanda had already shown Selena the gun in the previous months. I wouldn't go near that crazy bitch if I was Selena.

    • @JohnnyangelNIU
      @JohnnyangelNIU 3 ปีที่แล้ว

There are so many "what ifs" for that day. I think everybody would agree if there was a way to re-do that day, Selena (famous, almost famous, or even just as a regular woman- doesn't matter) would have NEVER gone there at all, or alone at the very least. At this point in the game, this was already a situation for the police - that's what they get paid to do. I know she trusted Yolanda, but again - not the point anymore. At this stage in the game, it was already well past the "let's give her one or two chances" scenario. Everybody knew (at the very least) Yolanda was up to no good financially (this wasn't a situation of $10 or even $100 missing) - police should have been going there at this stage - period. Even if Selena had gone there with Chris, or another person, or even an officer escort - the likelihood this happens is about '0'. Again, I would say this same advice to any regular person or my neighbor. This is also not me lessening the blame for Yolanda. Like others said, sometimes discussing "what ifs" helps the healing process.... and a few small adjustments on that morning, and this probably never happens. Yolanda would have been taken in, processed, fired - and that's about it.

IMHO it's merciful that Selena died from her injuries instead of surviving BECAUSE with that extensive blood loss before responders arrived she would have suffered brain damage and/or physical disabilities that would have ended her productive
life and musical career. She stays 23 forever leaving us w/fond memories & video'd performances as a constant reminder that
all our days should be treasured for we know not what tomorrow brings. God bless you Selena & thank you.

Heart-breaking. I just want to wrap my arms around Princess Selena and keep her safe. :( What's crazy is that she ran so far while she was bleeding...I mean, what a brave woman. As you're in the room, I can just so easily imagine Selena in there, standing in front of the door, arguing with Yolanda...Next time you go there, can you make a video of the trail that Selena ran? I mean, a video that goes from that room to the lobby, just so we can see how much she ran after being shot? This is a nice video by the way. Thank you.

When Christina Grimmie was murdered at The Plaza Live in Orlando on June 10 2016, her brother Marcus tackled the gunman Kevin Loibl after his sister was shot. And even though he couldn't save her, he's still a hero for trying to protect his little sister. Now about Selena's death on March 31 1995, now i know i wasn't even born yet and i'm not trying to make Chris Perez feel bad but he really should have been there to protect his wife!!!! He could have tackled Yolanda right as she was getting the gun from her bag!!!!! Then it could have slipped out of her hand. Then while Yolanda was distracted, Selena could have grabbed her missing documents and she and Chris would make a run for it.

Are the owners really that cheap to keep the hotel the same as it was in the 90s? I don't how this hotel and that room is still open after slena getting killed on that tragic night. I would've thought they would close the hotel or completly remodel it or at least that room to avoid Selena attention. Like it's just there kinda goosebumps creepy. Like if nothing had happen if you don't know Selena you wouldn't know she got there in that hotel in the rooon. You would think the owners would do something out of respect for Selena.. Smh.

+Douglas Sanchez What makes you think it's the same as in the 90s? Lots of things about it changed. Like the original dark red doors are gone (which I heard the very door was auctioned). THe pavement and pillars have been remodeled. It's called Knight's Inn now, not Days Inn, and even the lobby floor has been replaced.

What a coincidence you were there on 31st of March of 2014 on the 19th anniversary of the murder!
At 1:52 after Selena was shot, she ran past that pool. She then continued running at 3:19 on the footsteps of that other side toward the lobby of the hotel further down that video.

I think he said he was there on March 30th, which would have been the day before. Unless he was mistaken. Either way, yes - close enough to the 19 year anniversary.

It almost seems a little creepy, it's very quiet, although I know most hotels are quiet. Very sad, I miss her so much.

The worst aspect of that place is the fact that she ran from the room towards the lobby after she got shot and the distance from that specific room to the lobby is pretty long walk let alone after being shot in the back.

Yolanda probably put a curse in that room. No way in hell I'm sleeping in there if I had the chance. You can change the door number, carpet, bed, re arrange the interior etc ....it doesn't change the history what happened on March 31st 1995 when that's where beloved Selena was shot by that evil nut job.
To the guests who don't know who Selena is... ignorence is bliss.
    RIP Selena 💜

It's totally disrespectful and unethical to have this room still available for booking. They need to close it down and either make it into a memorial or just not allow it to be used by anyone and leave it at that. A murder was committed there. It's deeply disturbing. And it was the murder of a musical icon. Her death was so significant. No reason they should still be renting it out to people.

If you do another video this year being 20 years now, it would be cool if you did a walk from the room to the lobby to see how far it really is. I've always wondered that and im sure a lot of other people have too.

Actually Selena wasn't killed in room 150 she was shot. Then she ran out of the room to get away. The lobby was where she was lying and dying. She later arrived at the hospital where she died a couple hours later. she died because she was hit in the back as she was leaving and the bullet hit a major artery where she lost a lot of blood and that led to her untimely death.
