  • Brought to you by the TEXT-to-SPEECH technology. Take it or leave it.
About the voice, viewers say that it sounds like David Attenborough. I have no 100% confirmation.
At the current stage of this technology at my disposal, it can’t do multiple characters with one voice, which means it sounds a bit monotonous.
Another damper on our listening satisfaction is that pronunciation problems still persist. It takes a bit of tweaking with some words. Sometimes, you can’t make it pronounce some simple word right with all the coaxing in the world. Especially with French or Latin words which occasionally pop up in Wodehouse’s writings, I had to make a patchwork of sounds because what it actually pronounced was too ignorant-sounding to be put out as what Jeeves or Wooster would have said; so, I went full French, and then it became incongruous with the other parts. See the conundrum? I don’t know why I started all this trouble for myself.
So, if you take it, take it on a better-than-nothing (or potayto-potahto when it comes to pronunciation) basis without judgment or high expectations.
And if you leave it, leave it without cluttering up the comments section with your snarky comparison to the Great Jonathan Cecil (What’s the use?). I love Jonathan Cecil as much as the next person; this voice is just a pinch hitter to read us the PGW stories that Cecil (and others) didn’t get around to.
    Cheers!

This AI voice is better than they used to be, but it still sounds like a robot- no enthusiasm, no interest in the story. This robot is no Jonathon Cecil!

To anyone dissatisfied with the e-narrator, I would say "Be of good cheer; at least it is not Frederick Davidson"

the main problem with the reader, ai or whatever, is it needs to leave a little space between the dialog of characters, it runs them intogether so much you sometimes cant tell which one is speaking.
