This kinda shows that there are actually some parallels with the MBTI and the 5-factor model. I found the video very interesting. Missed the mystical music at the end of your videos.
Hi Chris, its really nice to see you again after a while of absence watching your content. Recently I've thinking about the five factor model and socialization through low agreableness establishing it such as the rol model of being and treating other people, and, in a clinical specialization why don't you dive in techniques that might be useful to people who are often lead back by that factor in intrisic succes!
Also I'm skeptical that autonomy would be correlated with low extroversion. Seems like from what I have heard in the past it's highly correlated with job/life satisfaction in general, which makes it seem unlikely to be an introverted trait. I don't remember details though, just I think it was discussed by Cal Newport in "so good they can't ignore you".
Great video Chris! I was wondering if you've noticed a correlation between types and what the type define as success? I was also wondering if there's any data to support whether a type has a higher propensity to achieve their definition of success? Not sure if the answer is out there but I figure I'd ask. Really enjoying these type of videos!
Hey Jon, there is data similar to that for five factor, but not anything on type. One of the struggles with type is that the research pool is very limited due to its less than stellar reputation in academia. The next video I am doing will be discussing a bit on this topic and the concept of manifesting success. You could pretty easily make some reasonable mental correlations from ffm to type though.
Hey, Asura. Correct me if I'm wrong but Jungian cognitive functions and MBTI are derived from neuroscience, right? It seems like typology has manifested into a behavioral science. It seems like basically every type theory is mostly vague stereotype behavioral traits as type descriptions that just about anyone can relate to. Because of this, I think that's why so many people get mistyped or just overall can't figure out their type. They don't have self-awareness or understand themselves at a core level to know what type they are. Lastly, I know that you subscribe to the four function model but do you think that we all as a species experience all 8 functions whether conscious or not? If so, would that technically mean you ascribe to the eight function model? I'm just wanting your perspective on this.
Hey there, Technically type arose from behavioral observations. Jung looked at and attempted to describe things he saw. Neuroscience would come after the fact, and even then the neuroscience of personality is still not very well understood., What we do have is cognitive models though, and cognitive psychology focuses how information is processed, not necessarily how that happens at the neuron level. I think we all experience some form of the "8 functions" in that the 4 that we have can vary and shift throughout the lifespan. The reason we have to understand them as four as opposed to 8 distinct functions that can be fully manifested is because they exist in relationship and opposition to their opposite. You cannot employ Fe and Fi at the exact same time, Se & si, etc. They are literally oppositional to eachother. It would be like saying "I am both experiencing this moment in the fullest sensory way while also internalizing it and valuing and reflecting on its subjective experience in relation to prior experiences." The more we go into the subjective, the less objective we are, and vice versa.
I appreciate that you're very willing to say "this part is just my opinion, I don't have a study to back it up" as needed.
I was farming conscientiousness but I got distracted with this video. I'll go back to the grind
Great video!!

@@AsuraPsych Looking forward to it bro!
The road to Sucess (for mbti format for exemple) is to embrace your 4 functions and challenge them as much as you can ( says my Te or my Ni😂) .
What do you think about the high potential trait indicator (HPTI)
as an infp i take it upon myself to earn 9 gazillion dollars a year to skew the statistics
