Huge fan of Jay and Soder. However, Jay prides himself on crowd work in comedy which is a theatrical production. Then criticizes a cast of performers for what seems like a very tame social commentary. Any kind of performance is an expression of self. The stage is absolutely the correct platform for this espcially when the person you're trying to reach is quite literally sitting in the crowd. I could see it being lame and cliche if he wasn't absolutely agree.
The funny thing is Trump is actually outsmarting everybody. I'm pretty sure he sent Pence to Hamilton, knowing something like this would happen. He sent him into the belly of the beast, to create a distraction. To keep people from talking about Trump U. Which he just settled for 25 million dollars. And nobody is talking about that. They are only talking about what happened at Hamilton. It was a brilliant move by Trump again. He completely manipulated the media.
He's a master manipulator. I could absolutely see him doing that as a ploy. I realized he might have a shot when Megan Kelly asked him the question on women at the one debate and he said "only Rosie O'Donnel." He got a laugh and the question which would have devasted any other person on that stage garnered him even more favor. Now he's going to try and run the country and his business because "There can't be a conflict of interest with the president." Nobody speaks about this either.
