thank you mike wanted to just say watching you use the hand dredge gave me an idea for a modification that might work out quite nicely. will be making one soon and testing. will post the mod and usage on my channel at some point most likely within the next month or two. modification idea. add an upward 45 degree pvc piece at the end. add a horizontally mounted handle along the top. just a bit shy of half way down the barrel of the pump. (going to make this adjustable) for operation it would essentially be the same methodology, simply focusing a bit more on dropping the handle end of the pump as downward while pivoting the pump on the handle on the barrel. should allow for a higher quantity of material per drop. the 45 simply adds a way of keeping the stuff that drops off the end from going anywhere. good hunting for the gold and thanks for the video.
Along with an 8th inch classifier do you think it might be worth increasing the gradient of your sluice slightly? it seems that the riffles are filling up very quickly which could result in fine gold washing straight over the top.
Any tips for down there i was there two weeks ago not even any black sand or a speck of gold compared to when i was at baile an or thanks for sharing Hh😊Thor
I think I would just shovel it up and throw it in buckets and leave the washing for my garage. You won't freeze your tail off in your heated garage. Return the tailings on your next trip to dig a stream. This should also help hide your secret dig because you spend less time there. Also, save the black sand for micro gold is bonded with the iron pyrite.
Lovely video pal ! Would all the gold flakes separated and shown in the top of the sleuce at 22.52 minutes be taken at that point ? Instead of getting lost
David mHi looking for tips for panning wheres the best place to look is it on the inside bend 3 to 4 ft deep? Found some in ochills scotland last trip found nothing thanksDavid
+David m hi David your right, inside bends or waterfalls or obstructions in the water flow like large rocks trap gold when it's in flood the amount depends on how much is at the source n how many people been there before you, I fond gold on the surface and all the way down to bedrock.
look for areas where the larger rocks have started dropping in the current. pull out the small squash sized rocks and then work down and spread out a bit toward the inside bend. and some toward the middle. you should be able to hit a few spots and test for deposits pretty fast with a few relatively small holes. once you find the color your looking for keep working that spot till dinner/ or winter. whichever comes first :)
Great video buddy
Thank you
That's great looking Gold, really well done video too. Look forward to seeing more!
That is a nice pan, think I would like that stream very quiet and a bit of gold. That"s a good day.

Thank you bud I enjoy making them 😀
Nice Spot, looking good! Maybe a bit windy up there :) Greetings
scotland seems like such a nice place to go gold prospecting in... grasslands instead of dense woods, nice breeze... 😌

That's a sweet spot you've found yourself, impressive final clean up. I need to work on my sluice setup a bit more.
Sure is bud, could spend a week digging that one bend love it beautiful place 😀

Good job Mike, it’s adding up 😁🤙
Not a bad haul!! Who knew; gold in Scotland!! Go get it!
That looked like a good afternoons work. Lots of black sand there too.
MrDazp1
Excuse my ignorance
Is black sand a good thing ?

There are videos on y/t showing how to remove the micro gold from the black sand.
Lovely video pal !

is that on private land or public land
Private estate land at leadhills £20 for a years permit
@@MichaelAnderson2009 is it worth it , or has it been hammered for gold , ?? is there a distance of river you can do
or gullys
@@TheGardener54uk I just did it for fun bud was worth it to me, you can't make a living out it 👍
is that amount at the end worth out ? like a fiver or more ? im not clued up on metal values...🙂👍
Guaranteed good wind sound effect samples to be had doon tha Elvanfoot rd
I don't think there would b any gold make it down 2 Shropshire as surely the gold wouldn't make it this far down river am I right
Do you need a licence for gold panning or detecting and if so from whom?
Alexander Lennox in scotland permission and permit for panning required metal detecting requires landowners consent
Nicky Waters game am guessing it’s hard to obtain permits?
Use a little piece of sponge or something like that over your microphone, just tape it on with electrical tape - will stop the wind noise
Ya canny beat a bit o Scottish yella like👍😉a prefer these videos to the drone yens!
I am in a horrible cycle of watching videos of people finding gold in the leadhills, going myself finding nothing, watching another video, repeat XD
With Centrifugal concentrator Flexicone you can get twice more gold
is there any adverts on here
Duncan Emery yes bud
Could only handle that for so long as a hobby.
I only done it for one year, do miss it tho 👍
Can you pan any river or do you need permission and licences?
Armourer Reloading hi there yes you need permission and license.
Mike Anderson where do I apply? I want to go tomorrow 🙈
Armourer Reloading the museum at leadhills issue permits and will point you in the right direction 👍
Mike Anderson thanks and one last question, what about England? Do we need a licence to dig rivers here?
Armourer Reloading I'm not sure about England, Wales has some gold but has a strict permission system too
Hi I was wondering whether you keep the gold you find?
Dick head .. he had implied whether he sold it or kept it ..
I am glad I read the replies to this post🤣🤣🤣
Would be nice a 4” dredge
I wish bud, not allowed dredging in Scotland more fun this way 👍
What about a highbanker ?
@@danielusa998 nothing powered, handpumps not allowed in some places too😒
