So basically, definately you should not go for leatherette or cotton as an option, as one require high maintenance and on other side leatherette cant be use in long run if you have children and pet, as it cannot be repaired and leave a mark..
I suggest go for Leather Look Fabric or Jute Finish Polyester, in both cases the overall look of the couch will be different.
Prefer as per your interior, my fav is leather look fabric which is 100 percent polyester and long durable

What should be fibric colour suits on natural wooden sofa. Teal blue colour should be ok or shall I got ahead with gray or some light colours.
Thanks MBharambe for the request. If it is made of natural teak colour wood or polish, We would suggest to play safe and use grey or creame colours. Even Orange would go very well.

Hi Niranjana - Thanks for the good wishes. Generally I don't like sofa covers coz they disturb the whole look. Though if you really want one you can opt for a dark beige covers to complement the look.

Thanks a lot for the reply! How velvet can be cleaned? Can we wash it in washing machine, by hand or it can only be drycleaned. As you said now a days these can be cleaned easily.
Hi Geetika, Velvet sofa can not be washed by hand, it has to be dry cleaned or vacuum cleaner can be used in some cases. Home dry cleaning services can be done under Rs.2000 as per location. Urban Cleaning or just dial can be used.
