This is a great walk through! Thanks! I really love so much about smartsheets, but was really disappointed to learn that it does not really have any way to mange in hours (only duration), such as building schedule base on resource allocation and work hours required. Curious if anyone has found any good solutions here.

You are absolutely right! It is a major gap for more mature PMOs that utilize more advanced resource leveling techniques! In our Smartsheet solutions we typically add helper columns to calculate hours (or points) to support estimation.
I think that as Smartsheet continues to improve/fully integrate 10000 ft / Resource Management Into their platform, it will become native to their platform.
In the meantime it requires workarounds unfortunately.

This is a great introduction. I don't think it is mentioned that a lot of useful functionality (eg row-level sharing rights) comes with costed add-ons, even with the enterprise licence.

Good point! - Smartsheet does LOVE to sell add-ons! I wasn't aware that row sharing was specific to Enterprise though. I thought it was individual license status dependent - i.e. have to be a licensed user vs a free user.

@@echolocity yes, I wasn't being very specific or accurate. To get row level control you need to have the Dynamic View add-on (described to me as "eye-wateringly expensive") or have everyone with a licence so they can use WorkApps (also expensive to roll-out at scale). Feel free to correct me if I've got anything wrong here.
