The song talks about the opression of the Indo-Guyanese community when Burnham was in control(An example: he banned all kind of Indian food items like flour, which can make roti). This song then was sung my Kanchan. Even to this day the Indo-Guyanese community in Guyana is still being oppresed.

Guyanese people don't have an identity of their own, but one that they adopted from Trinidad and like to call their "own". Soca Music, Chutney Music, Tassa, Steelpan.. etc - is all Trinidadian.
trinidad and gt people have similarities 1. both have high concentration of blacks and indians 2. both country's have problems with race i,e blacks fighting with indians. 3. both country main music is soca thats all i can think of for now. stop fight with each other and unite. love from a jamaica
