I am in my 60s. My children are grown. How I wish you had been around when I was raising them! Your biblical teaching would've helped me sooo much! I was a new Christian at the time, and didn't have the women mentors I truly needed. God bless you for how you're teaching this next generation of moms and homemakers!
Thank you, Julie! One of the reasons I'm doing this is because I too had a hard time starting out. A lot of times I'd try reaching out to older women, but either they had unbiblical advice or else they didn't remember enough to give practical advice. I realized the need to share as we are going through the process, before we forget the pains and the joys and the lesson learned. Thank you for encouragement 🙏, it is very much appreciated!
Couldn’t have said it better myself, this describes me as well. I am so thankful to be able to apply these principles to helping to raise my grandson now. This channel is truly a blessing. Maybe we can help the younger women in our lives in their homemaking journeys too 😊
Thanks for another encouraging and helpful video. FYI-Run a fan on low on your seedlings after they’ve grown a bit, to toughen their stems up and prep them for going outside. Note that they dry out a tad faster once you start fan therapy lol. I sell seedlings at my local farmers market and grow them for my own garden, and learned this tip last season. ❤
Thank you, Autumn! I knew about the fan, but I had been dragging my feet. After reading this I went and got it on them! BTW, I still haven't replied to your other comment about Sunday, I'm so behind on comments right now! I just wanted to let you know I did see it and appreciate your sharing!
Thank you for your content. I am a newly homemaker and have no clue what I am doing. I love watching your videos and learning how to become a homemaker. Your videos feel like I am sitting in the kitchen chatting and learning.
How you described your home and what we see: your home is cozy and calming. It isn’t a mess. It isn’t a showroom. I’d take living in or visiting a home like yours over a showroom any day. It’s not so rigid and people can just enjoy the memories they make, rather than worry if they put something out of place. One of my FAVORITE memories in our current home is we hosted a huge family party because like 3 or 4 people had birthdays and some of the young teen cousins ended up having a food fight w the cake. Lots of squealing and giggling. Their mom was mortified but I assured her this would be a wonderful memory 🥰 Also, I love that my kids love cooking and baking and crafting. They do it all in my kitchen. I am teaching them they need to tidy after themselves so we can still function lol
Meal planning: My meal planning continues to change over the years depending on what season of life we are in. I now just have a board by my stove and I write down 4-6 meals, not necessarily in order. I just make sure I have the ingredients and look at my schedule for time management. I always cook double what we need so I can freeze the left overs immediately. I freeze them in individual servings so they thaw faster and we can pick and choose what we’d like. We have a lot of busy evenings when it isn’t realistic for me to cook our meal but I hate the thought of eating take out all those nights. I grew up w health issues (mostly asthma) and have found I can control the health issues w healthy eating habits
I left my fruitful career become an official homemaker/housewife in 2020- oddly enough one month before the lockdowns began… but I focused so much of my energies on what I felt was so wrong in the world at large that I hardly had any energy left to actually be present with my own family until about two years ago. So I still consider myself to be new at the homemaker profession. Your channel is so inspiring- we also homeschool and will be homesteading in the near future. I too am ADHD which only seems to have gotten worse in the past few years- thank you so much for putting together such thoughtful content!
Haven’t watched in a month or so, but your channel is we’re I go anytime I need some encouragement as a homemaking/homeschooling/Gardener/animal care taker, etc. ❤️
Awe, thank you SO much! Every view is very much appreciated and helps me, and I love hearing that I've been able to be an encouragement. To God be the Glory!
Watching your video for the first time.. enjoyed every single second.. like you said “homemaking is a ministry” so true. Being a mom of two, working remotely , and homeschooling two little ones here in Canada… I needed this for encouragement and making me know my calling or purpose.. and do it with a grateful heart ❤
Through every video, every commentary, & every lesson…you have encouraged me to grow bit by bit in my homemaker, wife, mom, & Christian woman role. It’s been a blessing to have found your channel!
Love this and your kitchen. So functional. I love your channel because it is real. The younger women trying to do this, is not. It is more of a fairytale kind of thing. One look at their kitchen tells me that no one uses that kitchen, LOL I also love your coveralls. I looked at them and was wondering if I could take the inseams out and resew them together into a long dress/jumper which would also be cute. Thank you for telling us about the clothes that you wear and the things in your kitchen that you use. It is so helpful. I also love the 3 ring binder. Looks so nice and I was thinking what an attractive binder for recipes it would be. would go great in my kitchen. Now I am interested in your silicone spatulas because of their color. I do NOT like the bright colors of the ones that I see in the stores. I am a total nuetral nature kind of color person.
Thank you for your videos. Serving my family is my greatest pleasure. Thank you for confirming that it's ministry and another way of worship/submission to our maker. May the Lord Jesus bless you.
Hi Shayla, Thank you for your tips! I am a 'young' Mom of two under two. It has been chaotic on some days, but most have been beautiful. I also get distracted often, for example thinking I need to do a load of washing while I do the dishes and teach my little ones, then I realise the floor is dirty by the kitchen baisen, but the broom is in the bathroom. I could sweep there too 😅 life happens... I need to make a mindshift to help me get on the up. I look forward to applying your tips, Taina's (Mum of 10) tips and many more Biblical tips. I need 'older' (not in age but in experience and wisdom) Moms' advice guidance. Thank you for your gentle tips.
Ps. An experienced Mom advised me to change the way I think. I watched the following video about Mother's intuition (th-cam.com/video/1trA6h7nOG8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DolQx2t8wxZXq_Yh) There, the ladies mentioned that Mothering is the biggest career. It shouldn't be looked down on. I realised that that is what I'd like to do for my ministry, children's ministry, my children. I'd love to home school❤
I came across your channel today and subscribed! I watched two videos so far. I am enjoying them! I am a Christian homemaker and homeschool mom of three boys. My oldest I have been homeschooling since Kindergarten and my younger two are 3 and 4, so they haven't officially started yet. I thought it was so funny and relatable when you were talking about finding a recipe for "I don't know." 😂 My husband says that all the time and says he just knows he is hungry or he tells me he wants food when I ask him what he would like to eat. 🤦♀️ Lol! You reminded me about kitchen days. I used to do that and it did help a lot, prepping meals for at least part of the week, etc. I will have to make time to do those again more often. Thank you for the reminder and for your videos! I currently live on a little over 3 acres in Texas, and I would love to have a garden! Right now, I just do little things inside like herbs and little growing projects to get the kids involved. I work with horses when needed at a camp my in-laws manage and I am there working for all of summer camp, so I am not home for a good part of the growing season here, but I definitely want to try and do a small fall garden this year. Hopefully. 🙏 I am looking forward to watching more of your videos! ❤ God bless you and your family! 🙌
Oh, also, I loved when you said that what we do in the home is a ministry! It really is! There is so much you said that resonated with me and that I loved in this video. Thank you, again, for all of the beautiful and true reminders! I needed them. ❤
Hello! I saw your other comment about this, I have been meaning to respond but waiting until I get it down in my planner to do! Yes, I can do this, thank you for the suggestion!
Thank you for sharing… your videos are so inspiring and what a ministry you have as a mom, wife and homemaker. To hear your daughter say she wants to be a homemaker must make your heart glad. God bless!
I am ao encouraged by every video you post. I frequently find myself stuck with that drowning feeling of hopelessness like its all a bit to much to run a home. But I leave your videos feeling revived, encouraged and blessed! Please never underestimate the power your story can have over the lives of others. May the Lord bless you and your beautiful family! Thank you for sharing it with us 🙏🏽🧡
This was wonderful! Today is my Mommy Monday where I take time for myself and reset my week. I love the planner! As soon as I am able, I will be grabbing one! I really, really, REALLY needed that reminder that the house is NOT going to be SUPER magazine clean because people live there! LOL! I think I may have some form of Adhd as well (no diagnosis) and I really struggle with executive functions like time management and organization. Clutter is noise to me, same as certain types of lighting. Watching your videos has ALWAYS been helpful because it gives me hope that I can be as organized one day to be able to operate in this line of ministry! It also helps me feel human in times I feel like a total weirdo for hating my lighting!😅😅😅 I'm currently at my Mom's in SC learning some homesteading techniques, and I decided that I wanted chickens at some point! I clicked on the video, and YOU HAVE CHICKENS!!!! Are you opposed to talking about caring for them? It is so nice to serve others (I am a mix of a Martha and a Mary). Hehe. Your pie looks so tasty. I talk about time management to my sons all the time. I schedule out my day in my head and am really good at configuring how long things might take me and make my priority list in my head (I know you are one who uses a planner, but I don't have ADHD). Your video has made me so hungry today hehe.
Can you please share your angel food cake recipe please? We got a ton of organic strawberries and I'm craving angel food cake with the pregnancy plus it's one of my husbands favorites. ♥️🙏
It's in one of my videos from the within the last year, but I just can't remember which one. I use the Betty Crocker recipe but substitute the regular flour for oat flour. ❤️
Hi there! I found your channel recently and I connect so much with your vibe, mindset, decor style, etc!! I think you are a few years ahead of me in your journey, so I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I have 4 kids, 3 are ages 10-13 and then I just had a baby in February. I have an issue with my 3 older ones I’ve been struggling with for a while. My kids ask me SO MANY QUESTIONS!! Like constantly! questions with obvious answers, questions about nonsense, questions that their brother or sister literally just asked me. I am finding it very overwhelming and overstimulating and I try to handle it and teach them as patiently as possible because, as you say, we have to handle the hearts of our kids with care. But over the last year I have noticed no improvement. Even my husband when he is around will get onto them about it and tell them to leave me alone 😅. So my question is: is this normal behavior for that age? How can I make it stop??😂 Any advice you have will be appreciated. And thank you for your beautiful content.
I just binged through at least 3 of your videos. One of them had playdough and you said you'd share the recipe in the description but I looked through everything I thought I listened to while I worked and I can't find it. 😪
No, no tutors coming in :-)! I do utilize some online programs as needed though. We use Teaching Textbooks for math, and I have utilized online options for some high school. I've also used a private school's homeschool high school program when I was feeling over my head at times.
I loved how you smelled and tasted the jelly first before feeding it to your family 😂 I do this all of the time haha, I’m amazed more Moms don’t die of food poisoning 😂 Also I have an order of who I allow to eat the food, my husband will say is such and such still ok to eat and I’ll say yeah for you, but don’t let the kids have it 😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's great, we all need a pen case, lol! Seriously, I am using this thing like crazy and I love not having to hunt for specific pens. When I'm planning I need some of my pens to be erasable, and some to be highlight erasable, but I need some non erasable too. So often I'd have to hunt for the right pen and forget what I needed to write by the time I found it. That no longer is a problem with the pen case though!
Hello! I do, but I don't believe I can share it because of copyrights. It is in this book though and it is seriously THE BEST!!!In fact, every recipe I've tried in this book is wonderful. amzn.to/3T44aY5
Shayla every time i try to visit your blog/ shop it send an invalid reply back to my phone and my phone wont let me go to your site for safety! Im not sure if this is a me thing or something going on w your site! 😢 id love to get through though so i can make some purchases! PS: once again our families are twinning. I have a daughter wanting to become a baker and a daughter wanting to do something artsy too! 😊
So this happened to me once, it was because my browser needed to be updated! Apparently the website isn't working well with outdated browsers for some reason. I contacted my hosting company because I do have security and that is what they told me.
I just got done reading a super long forum of brothers and sisters bantering back and forth about what foods are considered unclean even as gentile Christians. My brain hurts and I’m left more confused than when I started looking for answers. I actually came to your channel to relax! 😊 Great content and beautiful video! (I think I’m going to make some oatmeal now. No one seems to have a problem with that! 😂)
Oh my, I know the feeling! I was raised in a very legalistic religion. I remember one topic that went on for weeks, every gathering our church would have a debate which would last 3 or more hours, it was all arguing about if sabbath should start Friday evening or Saturday or Sunday. One of the men insisted it must change with the seasons and we needed to return to the Hebrew calendar. It was all mind numbing!
I had some friends like this (we are of different denominations, I am Catholic) and they would spend inordinate amounts of time doing the same thing. It actually fractured their church; one group of the older people felt that the younger people were not being 'strict' enough. What the younger people had found tho, was that all the food group "restricting" was causing each subsequent generation to have more & more (& more severe/deadly) allergic reactions to many of the major food groups. Many of their kids literally could NOT eat the food groups that were deemed 'allowable' by the older generation without serious health risk. But even at that, they would try to sway ME or being very controlling of what their kids were eating in MY home (not allergen related - things like no sugar, no gluten, etc). They would make comments about the fact that we raise pigs & ate pork or if my kids were allowed to have candy, or if I made jam with sugar instead of honey (& lets be honest, who can financially afford THAT, as honey is so super expensive). It got to be too much & I really had to back away from the group. I am still friendly with them & see them once in a while, but I can't get caught up in all of that. My denomination doesn't really have eating restrictions like that, & I didn't want my young kids going down that road - as I am a child of a parent who has an eating disorder. I go with the Ben Franklin mindset - In all things, moderation.
I LOVE THE LOOK OF THIS PLANNER!! It really looks like it would work well with how my noggin processes. I can’t wait to work with one! Also side note: as an exvangelical I find it uncomfy and often scary to watch Christian creators content I appreciate how safe your content feels and how u don’t use scriptures that are triggering but actually helpful. Just thought I’d thank u for that safety. 🧍🏻♀️

Also I have an order of who I allow to eat the food, my husband will say is such and such still ok to eat and I’ll say yeah for you, but don’t let the kids have it 😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I need a pen case!!
Do you have a really good gluten free pie dough recipe? I'd love to see a video of a step by step 🙂
Hello! I do, but I don't believe I can share it because of copyrights. It is in this book though and it is seriously THE BEST!!!In fact, every recipe I've tried in this book is wonderful. amzn.to/3T44aY5

So this happened to me once, it was because my browser needed to be updated! Apparently the website isn't working well with outdated browsers for some reason. I contacted my hosting company because I do have security and that is what they told me.
@@mountainmamashome thank u! That's good to know! I'll try updating my browser!
I just love your videos.🥹 Thanks.
Awe, thank you, Brandi!
