I don’t think this choice is better than JDM but I think that Ben Afleck would have fit this role. His body type is more similar to Negans in the comic.

Negan mentions this when he talked about the “Satellite Station” with Maggie. His character, on a deeper level, stands for that there is good and bad in everyone.
