Paragliding Slovenia Kobala-Tolmin cross country flying

paragliding trip to Slovenia, Kobala, Tolmin, Krn, Kobarid for cross country paragliding. Having a few days of nice weather and enjoying the beautiful landscape from above.

takeoff Above the city of Tolmin, take off place called Kobala, small road 15 km from Tolmin.
In July and August shutlles are organised every day starting at 10 am from landing.
Take off at 1pm with thermic breeze west side or in the morning if wind is blowing from east.
landing Landing is 2 km after the city of Tolmin on the road going to Kobarid, rigth side of the road along a dirt road, 500m from main road. good reference point is the helipad, there're two windsocks on this field. the emergency landing field is in front of Tolmin, where the road splits like figure V.

Valley wind can be quite strong
rules AVOID landing at/near helipad!
You have to pay one of the following fees to the local paragliding club:
- 4 Euro for one day
- 10 Euro for three days
- 20 Euro for 10 days
- 35 Euro for the season
'Parataxi' is 8 Euro per person (but a minimum of 30 Euro).
access - By road from Nova Gorica.
- By road from Ljubljana/Idrija/Most na Soci/Tolmin.
- By road from Bovec/Kobarid.
comments Cross country flying is relatively easy along the Soca valley or more inside the massif to the Krn (2200m) highest peak nearby.

tourism Kobarid museum dedicated to the battle of Kobarid during WW1. 1 million people died during the 3 years of the battle.
Kayak is the major activity: contact Maya in Tolmin, the day you can not fly, go kayaking in the Soca river: wonderful.
Camping Vili in Volarje 10 km from Tolmin, Vili is a very nice guy, charming quite place.
Two other campings in Korabid and surroundings - Camp Gabrije, camp Sidar, camp Lazar
