That's it from the Dientes. If you have questions about the circuit, please leave them below and I will do my best to answer!

1 - Could you please make a list with the most important itens to take to this circuit?
      2 - Is a GPS indispensable?
3 - Did you take freeze - dried food? Is there any problem in the airport because of it?
4 - Can you make fire anywhere in the circuit?
5 - Do you think a person who made the W in TDP could do it?
6 - What temperature do you recommend for a sleeping bag?
7 - How did you recharge your cell phones batteries (GPS)?
8 - Is there a (cheaper) way to get to the island other than an airplane?
9 - Is there a chance to camp outside a camp site if things go wrong and I didn't get there in time?
10 - Do you think it's possible to do more "2 days in one" like you did if necessary?
11 - Is there any guard post during the trail?
12 - Is a 70 liters backpack enough for all the stuff I have to take there?
I hope you understand my questions. Take your time to answer. Thank you.

1 - Could you please make a list with the most important items to take to this circuit?
A: This is a bit of a broad question. Most important items are the "10 Essentials"
      2 - Is a GPS indispensable?
A: Yes, yes and YES. The trail is not well marked and there is no trail at times.
3 - Did you take freeze - dried food? Is there any problem in the airport because of it?
A: Yes, we took a freeze dried food from USA. There is no problems with customs and freeze dried foods. Just declare it when you land it Chile and they are fine with it.
4 - Can you make fire anywhere in the circuit?
A: I saw some fire rings, but I do not advise making a fire in Patagonia due to the wind and dry nature. Plus finding dry wood is very difficult.
5 - Do you think a person who made the W in TDP could do it?
A: This is hard to answer. The W has all of the facilities. We did the W with none of the facilities unless demanded by the park. This has no rangers and you are on your own.
6 - What temperature do you recommend for a sleeping bag?
      A: In the summer 0ºF
7 - How did you recharge your cell phones batteries (GPS)?
A: I brought a charger for my camera batteries and phone.
8 - Is there a (cheaper) way to get to the island other than an airplane?
A: There is a boat that leaves from Punta Arenas. 30hrs travel time. Roughly 100,000 to 150,000 Chilean pesos. Flying from Punta Arenas is usually cheaper, let alone faster.
9 - Is there a chance to camp outside a camp site if things go wrong and I didn't get there in time?
A: Yes. You can camp anywhere there is flat enough ground if needed.
10 - Do you think it's possible to do more "2 days in one" like you did if necessary?
A: Some of the guides will do a 3/2. But that is rare. Most guides do a 4/3. Four Days / Three nights.
11 - Is there any guard post during the trail?
A: No rangers at all. You are on your own.
12 - Is a 70 liters backpack enough for all the stuff I have to take there?
A: I am not sure how light you go. But I can easily do a 5 day trip with a 70L bag.

Sorry, I expressed myself poorly on the fire question. What I meant is if was possible to use an oven to cook there. Now I remember you mentioned a person who's asking for a oven to other people on the third day. Making fire it's out of question in Patagonia and people who went to TDP know why it's so. Sorry for my mistake with words and thank you for the patience to answer.

Thank you so much for the video! I relived my trek through you two. I was just focused on surviving, you were making a video! It is very interesting that we had very often similar states of mind at the same places. Best.

That was the perfect ending for this epic trail. You guys really deserve all the beers and salames avaliable on the market. I imagine the feeling of leave these lands behind after being so intimate with it. A mix of relief and sadness I think.
I didn't heard about this track and I'll surely put it on my list now thanks to you. You guys nailed it and the sun came for you at the end just like a prize. Contralutations guys! Bravo, Nick and Jen. Bravo!

Thank you Fer! It feels so long ago we did this trek. And looking back, I would not have changed a thing about it. We always love our time in Patagonia no matter what the weather is like. Because to experience Patagonia, you have to wantonly take the good with the bad and look back fondly at overcoming nature.

Nick and Jen, It would be very interesting to me if each of you could provide 3 or 4 descriptor words for your experiences on this hiking circuit. Thanks for showing us this part of South America.

Hi Again I have watched all the episodes and really cracked up with the muddy beaver comment :)
One question I do have is do you just use Google maps so the GPS navigation with your phone? or just download a map and use off line?

Very nice series. The fact that you well documented it will help the next for sure. Hope your friend Victor made it back ok. Btw, is that a Sony phone with Jen? Lol

    • @OutsideAndStuff
      @OutsideAndStuff  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Victor made it back OK. We actually ran into him in town later that night. His group went through hell and the guides made the choice to just bounce all the way out instead of staying another night. And yes, Jen loves her tiny Sony phone. She is peculiar with these sort of things and talks in tongues when it comes to phones.

Outside & Stuff glad to hear he is fine. Haha I realized it was Sony right away from the engineered design! I’m a big fan of Sony phones. Love the Xperia XZ1 Compact. We should meet on the trail and talk phones! Haha hope to see you guys sometime. I’m near Everett and plan on a few hikes on Mt Loop.
