Hi there, I used a 6wt greys 9.6 4 piece with an airflo reel and an 8wt airflo floating line with a shooting head , 8lb grand riverge leader... Martyn Williams stalking flies... This is a great fishery well worth a visit. Tight lines.
Good morning @@johnyzonker , thanks for your comment, I find that using a slightly heavier weighted line loads up the rod better and projects the line easier, I have a long term problem with my shoulder and cannot force the cast, so I have found a way to get more controlled distance without so much effort. Tight lines my friend
@@Grandpa-Chris 2 weights up is too much. If u using a Sunray line especially as they are spey tapers and already have more weight in a shorter head. So if using Sunray which I find excellent match the weight to the rod. If using airflo cortland only go up one weight. I could see in the video of the hand built rod that your new rod was struggling with the red as u cast it.
My friend, I have a great friend Andy Banting who makes incredible bespoke fly rods known as Bloke rods, I have never used anything like them before… he is in the process of creating a 5 wt 9 ft four piece for me , made to my personal specifications and personalised with my brand name… I cannot wait to cast it into hallowed waters like Rockbourne, Dever Springs or Lechlade… my Greys will be relegated to a back up rod… it has been a wonderful servant for over 15 years. Take a look and drool my friend Tight lines
Morning Chad, I had a session on Bridge, primarily under the tree in the corner , bung and Egg… hit after hit, I had to move before my day came to a quick end… all smalls by Rockbourne standards, so I ended up with a second ticket… no video due to power issues, but it was a great session…🎣🎣🎣
Thanks Cider Man, I appreciate your input and have addressed this terrible habit, Boys and girls, if you are taking the fish always dispatch it before handling it, if you are releasing it remove the hook in the net preferably without touching the fish and never put your fingers in the gills of a live fish. Let the fish slip out of the net and swim away naturally. I screwed up on this occasion, no excuses, just bad habits. Thanks Cider Man 🎣🎣🎣🎣
I love it!

Can’t understood using an 8 weight line with a6 weight rod

Bridge lake is very underrated - people tend to prefer alder and long acre

There has been some huge fish caught recently and many more like these still being stocked...
If there's any new angler's watching this Don't ever handle fish like this. Honestly
