    Pro tip: AVOID Dirty 6th after 12am. There’s always random shooting.

      If you are not from Austin, "Dirty 6th" is the part of 6th street between Congress and IH 35. And yes, Night time events and Dirty 6th are where most of the problems occur.

    This is such a good video! OMG!!!! Thank you so much for all your amazing tips. They will
    definitely help me to navigate through SXSW. I am newbie on the festival! Very excited! Cheers from Brazil !!!

      Glad to help!! This year is going to be amazing. And Brazil is on my list of places to visit, I used to do Capoeira and I've made a bunch of Brazilian EDM songs

    Good advice. I have attended SXSW for 15 years in a row. I would say that RSVP isn't as important as mentioned. Most places will not ask for it and let you in anyways. Especially the day events. BUT don't get caught without one at the ONE event where they do ask for it. So if the event is really important, then definitely RSVP.
    Phone charging/batteries, comfy shoes/clothes and hydration are the most important items that you don't want to ignore.

    This was really helpful. I've always wanted to go, but the prices for all the different passes are crazy and definitely a deterrent. Major pro tip there at the end😁
    Maybe ill run into you in 2024!

    Great tips, although I do like some of the events that require a badge.

    WOW! This video is the best I've seen - Thank you, double LIKES.
    I'm an older guy (70) I may end up doing this by myself. This Sx event and others have been on my life list. I prefer not to pay the ~2000 or $700 but I really want to see the tech/culture/AI/IOT/EV... stuff but not so much art or music there seems to be a lot a lot of parties. 😄😄 Are there venues where I can 'sneak in' to watch stuff? Are there public big screens? Any other research sources for an old guy? Thanks in advance

      Glad to help! And the best resources are The Dirty Team (The Blueprint) and Ausnio for all the events that are going to be happening

    From your experience, for people who want to attend but can’t do the whole 9 days because of work and life , do you think the first weekend 10-13 or 17-19 is more fun. I read from other post if you can’t make it , the very first weekend is always the most fun with events everywhere.

    • @MarcFreccero
      @MarcFreccero  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm honestly it's tough to say. If I had to pick one, I think I'd say weekend one tbh. But there are different types of crowds for both with different focuses on events

    Thanks for this GREAT video. Quick question - I'm planning to go SWSX to make connections in the film/tv area (I'm a video editor). Are there day-pass options for SXSW or do I need to purchase the full package that they offer online. Thanks!

    • @MarcFreccero
      @MarcFreccero  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad to help! And as far as I know they don't have day passes :/ HOWEVER.....with all the events going on, you might not need a pass (although, for film/tv, there are a lot of pass only events)

    • @filmmadman
      @filmmadman 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      so true...but having a SXSW pass of any kind is just one more way to help you get into more events and the more exclusive ones but not having one (which i have never bought one) will still get you into days worth of fun!@@MarcFreccero Great video Marc! people have asked me for all this same advice, every year. YOU NAILED IT!

    Thanks for the tips im so hyped. i ended up getting an airbnb about a 15 minute drive from the main downtown area. hopefully it works out. Do you know how to find after parties/house shows?

    • @MarcFreccero
      @MarcFreccero  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nice!! And I would check The Blueprint / The Dirty Team as they should start revealing RSVPs soon. Then I would just network a ton to find the best after parties

    How do I preform at SXSW as an artist?

    • @MarcFreccero

      It might be too late for this year - but I would contact tons of events and see if they have any open spots
