140k to become an exercise physiologist is nuts! So much money, even if you graduate without debt, the average salary doesn’t compensate at all.

Something good to note would be the acceptance of exercise physiologists in hospitals etc ..they are semi-required but often looked down upon in practice for various rehab/clinical settings.. this is just one of the many reasons that lead to a much lower salary even though per patient in CR can actually draw the facility a significant income.

No, the minimum is a 4 year degree in an exercise science field. Clinical exercise physiologists are more than likely going to need a masters degree in the future (think 2029 potentially). But you can become an exercise physiologist and a clinical exercise physiologist with a bachelors. I am currently an ACSM (EP-C) and am studying for my ACSM (CEP). I've been working in a cardiac Cath lab for the last 6 months and have learned soooooo much. I'm also thinking about going back to school to obtain an associates in cardiac sonography (RDCS). As someone who has worked in the industry, yes. There are so many opportunities in strength and conditioning, for athletes or tactical programs. It could also help someone interested in personal training-although that can also be done with just a certification. Aside from programming and clinical work, there are opportunities in health promotion-designing and marketing programs which encourage others to practice healthy habits. One example would be corporate wellness.
