    Thanks for sharing this with us, looks like so much fun. Can't wait for more content, even cleaning the machine after runs and maintenance. Cheers.

      Thanks for commenting. I try to film everything ,but some stuff is just too boring

      I need to see it in action now!

    Yep, streamliners make great vacuum cleaners. Need to seal up the cockpit from the wheel wells and any openings on the bottom or for the landing gear. Looks good.

      Thank for commenting, I'll be making another video of the fixes and hopefully a more successful run! Thanks for the feedback

    Here's a tip for an old dirt bike racer .Next time use a cake or biscuit tin and put your chain in that. Also even better full it with bike chain grease heat it until it turns into a liquid. let it cool, and wipe the chain clean. Why? well the gease enters into the chain and sets when cold. It keeps the chain lubricated way better than just oil on the outside out the links

    @stevesrt8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    that must be pretty intense. hope you can sort out the visibility. congrats on a good run. painting the chain was pretty funny. you got me

      Hahaha, I figured that would ruffle a couple of feathers!

    Well played sir. A good run, a few more minor changes and you should be up to warp speed.

      Thanks, much slower progress than I want, but it's getting closer to being a record

    Hi Shea, what about just wearing the thin surgical type gloves as a bit of voltage protection and you still get reasonable dexterity, I'm slowly starting my wiring system for the land speed bike, I may try a youtube video like you,

    • @sheanyquist
      @sheanyquist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The surgical gloves can provide brushing and light touching protection, but break down quickly when pressure is applied. I feel much more confident with no gloves and trusting the dmm. I personally don't like gloves. They hinder my ability to work safely

      Dirty hands. Clean work.

    1-Rad!!!
    2-Not sure the frame rate effects but the flexure of the shell might indicate some speed/wave length effect… do you have any accelerometer vibration data?
    I gotta get to a bigger screen to watch

    • @sheanyquist
      @sheanyquist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What the hell does speed/wavelength effect mean!?!?!? I don't have and accel data. My daq just does driveline stuff. I was thinking about a logger for my phone ( I use it for GPS speed logging)

      @@sheanyquist I noticed the deflection in the shell seeming to change at different speeds… imagine a bubble bumped open at the nose … it collapses into the sides perhaps several times … at various speeds the bubble stretched longer Down the sides… so I wondered if there was changes in buffeting that might peak at specific speeds that coincide with the bubble lengths being multiples of tye bike shell…. Sorry, there is weird stuff in my head time to time

  • @2thaporch
    @2thaporch 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So what is your unofficial maximum velocity thus far?

    • @sheanyquist
      @sheanyquist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Officially 96mph at Bonneville

    Need interior air venting...I couldn't see anything...😜

    • @sheanyquist
      @sheanyquist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I'm thinking seal off the seating area as much as possible, air inlet at nose and exit behind my head. Packing foam and canvas covers maybe

    I used to ride the dry lake bed abit back in the day day, I've seen these speed runs from time to time.
    This looks like way too much work to be fun, sorry!!
    Here's my self made diy emc:: th-cam.com/video/QKzJRHKn3r4/w-d-xo.html
    40 mile range ,top speed about 85 mph. voltage 98.6

    • @sheanyquist

      It'll be fun if I can sort out some of the issues and get a clean run

      @@sheanyquist instead of "pressurized" jet fighter cabin to keep the dust out, maybe a video camera ??
