It's a really hard time to be a trans person anywhere in the world right now, but the last few weeks in the UK have been especially hard. In this video I talk very candidly and seriously about how difficult I've found being a trans person these past few weeks. #MTF #Trans #maletofemaletransition

Just for the record... I love being trans. I love the joy that comes with being trans and I wouldn't change my identity for the world. But right now the attitude towards trans people is making it harder and harder to find the joy and sometimes... that just sucks! That's what I want to talk about in todays video!

Yes, being trans is very very difficult. I had friendships that spend over a couple decades after I transitioned within a couple years, I’ve lost every single one of them. Lost some family, lost all the medical providers I had previously had, and still scrambling to fill those gaps. Five surgeries later I completed my transition. I used to be happy, and now I spend more days depressed, isolated and lonely. I do not expect to live a full life as I one thought.

I stand tall and proud as a late transitioning trans woman. I meet the stares I see every day. No I don’t pass. I’m a very visible 6’1”openly happy proud trans woman. The news has been so bad but I think we knew the tories would store up as much crap as they can to hide their impressive shortcomings as the election approaches. Chin up! This too shall pass.

Hello lovely Steph. Marisa here. I just did my first Electrolysis session today. Not too bad. Seen as how you transitioned when you were a teenager, did you have facial hair to remove at all ? I am now officially one month on female hormones also. So my transition is going really well. So happy to be a girl . All my life I just wanted to be a girl. Keep on truckin, never give up. God bless you . With Hope. Marisa xx

My heart also goes out to all the kids like you said, not only because I thought I was some sort of sicko when I was that age, not knowing that trans people even existed, but also because I feel like I've been getting more motherly feelings recently. Like, urges to find people who are in trouble and help them. Maybe it's the progesterone, who knows

I'm in the same situation. Came out four years ago when around 30, it's been difficult, no doubt. But glad I'm finally true to myself though. No point trying to go about trying to please everybody else, cant do it anyway so may as well be honest to myself about who I am.

Being trans has always been hard. When we say it's hard, people always say "well you don't have to make it hard for yourself, you can just keep things easy" but... going through the hard is worth it. It's not like I've really got the choice, because circling the drain was easy and final, whereas transitioning is hard and still the best thing I ever did for myself.

Hello Stephanie. Thank you for posting this video. As a new Trans woman in her mid forties I could totally sympathize with what you're saying. I am not from the UK I'm from Canada. But we have similar things happening on our side of the water. The leader of the opposition possibly the next prime minister has serious anti-trans beliefs. As someone who has lived as a male in our society for over 40 years I know a lot about how the world works. I know the tools that I have at hand and the cards that I can play in any given scenario. I can use these cards to support my trans identity. Unfortunately for a trans youth this knowledge is not as available. Or the financial means are not there to support. I can hear by the tremor in your voice that you are deeply saddened by recent events. I too am saddened. I feel a terrible loss for Nex, for Brianna. The world is a much darker place without them. As hard as it is, as hard as being trans is, we have to stay strong. We have to prevail. There are no other options. I'm fully into this fight now. After coming out of the closet after 40 years I am not about to go back in. Not for these right-wing ass hats. I truly hope that your government and your prime minister will be defeated in the next election. I also hope that our leader of the opposition does not become our prime minister. Both of our countries deserve better and we all deserve better. Stay strong Stephanie. I have your back and so do many others. ❤❤❤.

Well said! So many of the people I looked up to when I was a younger gender non-conforming (non-binary) teen have since come out as trans. And their generosity in sharing their experiences is so important. The way I see it, they kept me safe when I was struggling, and I want to do everything in my power to give that ally ship back. Having to advocate for a mens' mental health group to let trans men in honestly is not where I thought we would be in 2024.
I find it so odd that the Daily Mail covered the Ghey Case with a podcast, seemingly determined to wash their hands clean for the years of awful articles about trans people. And yet now, have returned to fanning the flames of an exclusionary and far-right ideology.
I hope we as a country can begin to move toward a future where the hate we see is challenged and stopped.
Please look after yourself first, this is a very taxing time and not one you should have to experience.

Thank you for the video Stephanie. It's a really great message you're putting out there and I definitely feel you when you say its a blessing and a curse. I've been down recently, its so difficult to leave the house sometimes just do basic stuff like shopping and go to work. We all have to stick together in these turbulent times, where foolish people are trying to reverse the progress that society has made to accept transgender people and simply allow us to live our lives respectfully. Lots of love from a fellow trans woman xx

It's very sad and disheartening to hear this in this day and age, people should be free to be the person they want to be. To feel what you do is hard enough but to have to deal with other peoples narrow view and back ages thoughts in today's society should nothsve to happen and those that are negative should be ashamed of themselves in my opinion. Beauty is not just skin deep and although I have only watched a few of your videos you come across as a really sensitive and kind and thoughtful individual. Don't ever apologise for that Stephanie, Why anyone would give you a hard time is beyond me. Your awesome in my book

  • @LeafeMcGamer
    @LeafeMcGamer 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

This is quite sad and troubling, I'm a pre-trans guy but I can't transition cause of my transphobic parent, I hate that others are heartless when it comes to the lgbtq, people should get arrested for murder, it doesn't matter who it is, murder is murder, this just makes me disappointed in the world, god loves all, lgbtq or not, but I don't think he'll love people who are hating and killing others just because they're just being themselves, if we're transgender, then that's who we are, Transgender people aren't the threat, that's for sure, and that's goes the same for all lgbtq people, they aren't the threat.
If you're trans, bi, pan, aro, ace, poly, or any other lgbtq lebal, you are valid and you should live life how you want just be safe out there cause people can be selfish and people can do things without thinking, so be careful and safe out there.

I am really thankful for your channel Stephanie! The news affects me severely with having depression and anxiety, so I don't watch it at all. I transitioned at 37, having to do it alone but then I remember that I am truly not alone. I keep reminding myself when things get bad that it will pass and that I need to just keep going, it is difficult but I can make it through these tough times!

It is a great time to be Trans, we are the “avant guard”, you are the leading edge of the world that is beginning to emerge. It is a time of opportunity, of being the most we can be and let all see how we are. Show your kindness, show the compassion that we feel for everything that is. Giving freely the love that quietly lives in every heart.
Remember that we are the world that we conger in the way that we think.
Think that world that we all want to be!!

You represent your journey so well, and I for one have taken inspiration from your story, taken heart that others have gone through similar issues and worse. You are so right, in that there is no choice that we are trans, but we must take the choice to transition. I am 49, just started out on my transition journey and loving my life. There are so many hard months and years coming up for me, and knowing the potential outcomes that I can achieve is inspirational.
RIP those that have lost the battle. May you rest knowing that you will NEVER be forgotten, and I hope that your families can take some soulis in knowing that Trans and Non-Binary around the word Will Remember Them, at the going down of the sun and in the morning,

I like being Trans Although I did not ask for it, But I found that when I transitioned I found a better world I am much more calmer than I used to be nothing seems to wind me up like it used to, I am friendlier with others and I can see the other side of someone's else's point of view
Much more options are available to Me when I'm thinking about a problem and how to solve it, I can think outside the box and under it as well
I can multitask much better now without being stressed, My world is much calmer now even with all this shit going on in the world and I am more aware that there are dangers present that could strike me down if I did not keep my Guard Up
They say God doesn't make mistakes, Which I agree But when I see Him I will ask Him why did he make me transgender
I believe It is a gift but why Me

You are 100% on the money Stephanie. Being transgender is the most joyous experience in life. I am still in the throes of gender euphoria, whereby I often just dance around my home for no other reason than I can now celebrate who I am. And you are also right about wishing the world was transgender and us being so empathetic. I sometimes wish there was an island where only trans people could live our lives together in peace, harmony and acceptance. (Maybe there would also be a bridge to another island where all our allies lived!)
There seems to have been a huge push in the media over the last few years against us in both the UK and America. Luckily, although I am English, I live in Australia where I feel quite protected and safe. I just hope my country stays this way and doesn't follow down the same path as the US and UK as we have done in so many things in the past.

    Hey again sweetie 😘
You should feel allowed to talk about the bad stuff even when celebrating.. ❤
I really feel for transpeople in US and UK, and everywhere else they have a hard time, at the moment.. 💔
Yes it is not easy, it is painful not just because of the surgeries, but the emotional burden which are pushed upon us from others..
I just cut off the connection to my sister too.. 😒 i lost one of my best friend, because she could not handle it.. but still I have to see her and communicate with her weekly because we got 3 kids together.. 😢 to be fair to her, she isn't toxic towards me, she is trying.. and she do not say stuff about me to our kids.. she just can't stand to look at me, because of her opinions about it.. which hurts.. 😢
But the life is more than that, it is my fantastic friends and colleges, it is to be able to live in a country, where a law proposal against treatment for adolescents was dropped because it citet wrong full basis, and in generel was jugded to be in conflict with the medical studies conclusions.. it is to be able to have kids not being bullied because of it.. 🥰 and just having a lot of fun..
